These venues of the Beijing Winter Olympics have "transformed" gorgeously

author:Bright Net

After the opening of the Beijing Winter Olympic Games, as various events began one after another, the venues of the competition also appeared in turn. Among the many competition and non-competition venues, the Beijing Winter Olympics innovatively used some of the venues of the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics, transforming them from "Xia Fuwa" to "ice piers". Where will they go after the Winter Olympics? Over the past few days, this reporter has visited various venues of the Beijing Winter Olympics with these questions.

National Aquatics Center: From the Water Cube to the Ice Cube

Water Cube held aquatic events such as swimming, diving and synchronized swimming during the 2008 Olympic and Paralympic Games, and curling and wheelchair curling competitions during the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games. The venue uses a convertible steel frame support system and a detachable ice making system, and a temporary ice surface is built in the pool to form 4 standard curling tracks, turning the "water cube" into an "ice cube". The "water ice conversion" model significantly reduces resource consumption and carbon emissions. After the Winter Olympics, the venue can hold both ice events and swimming events, and at the same time can also undertake activities such as national fitness and large-scale cultural performances, so as to achieve the comprehensive utilization and diversified utilization of the venue.

National Stadium: From gymnastics hall to ice hockey hall

The National Stadium ("Ice Sail") is a venue for gymnastics, trampoline, handball, wheelchair basketball at the Beijing 2008 Olympic and Paralympic Games, and will be used as the venue for ice hockey and paralympic ice hockey at the Beijing Winter Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games in 2022. The façade of the new training hall of the National Stadium is designed with imitation ice glass tiles, which fully introduces natural lighting and minimizes lighting energy consumption. The venue adopts prefabricated locker rooms, each locker room can be disassembled into 8 independent boxes or re-spliced into new rooms as needed, and the recycling rate can reach more than 95%. After the competition, it will continue to host ice events, carry out large-scale cultural and sports activities, organize comprehensive training for young people, and launch scientific and technological entertainment experience projects.

Wukesong Sports Center: 6-Hour "Basket Ice Conversion"

Wukesong Sports Center is the basketball competition venue of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, and its supporting service facilities are baseball competition venues. At the beginning of the construction, the ice pipe has been buried, and the three modes of basketball, ice hockey and cultural performance can be converted within 6 hours, making it the first ice basketball double home stadium in China. The 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics will undertake ice hockey events here, the venue has made changes to the original standard ice surface, lighting facilities and other systems and display screens, and after the game, various ice events can be held by converting the size of the ice rink, and continue to use sports and cultural industries as the engine to build a city vitality center.

Capital Stadium: Old venue creates "the most beautiful ice"

In 2008, the Capital Gymnasium undertook the beijing olympic volleyball event, and the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics undertook the short track speed skating and figure skating events. In the transformation, the green and low-carbon concept is highlighted, the original historical style of the building is retained, and the ice surface of the site adopts carbon dioxide transcritical direct cold ice making technology, which provides technical support for the conversion of the two venue modes of short track speed skating and figure skating, and creates the "most beautiful ice" by adding new sound and photoelectric technology. After the Winter Olympics, in addition to ensuring the daily training of the national team, it will also undertake various high-level ice events, which will be open to the public, especially teenagers, and become a public ice training base and ice and snow experience center.

National Speed Skating Hall: New venues are built on old venues

The National Speed Skating Hall ("Ice Ribbon") is the only newly built ice competition venue for the Beijing Winter Olympics, which is used for the archery and hockey field of the 2008 Beijing Olympic and Paralympic Games, and the speed skating event for the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics. The venue integrates green environmental protection measures into the design and construction of the venue, and adopts a single-layer two-way orthogonal saddle-shaped cable mesh structure design, which greatly reduces the use of steel. During the construction process, 654 discarded pile heads were used to make concrete grandstand slabs to achieve resource recycling. After the race, the National Speed Skating Hall will become the Center of Excellence of the International Skating Federation, holding various ice events all year round, widely carrying out mass ice and snow sports, and creating a multi-functional ice center integrating "sports events, mass fitness, culture and leisure, exhibition and display, and social welfare".

Genting Ski Park: Transformation and utilization of snow venues

Yunding Ski Park in Zhangjiakou Was Officially Opened in 2012. After the successful bid for the Beijing Winter Olympics, it was identified as a competition venue for freestyle skiing and snowboarding, and undertook snow skills, aerial skills, U-shaped field skills, slope obstacle course skills, obstacle chases, parallel giant slalom and other competitions. Through the transformation of the original ski tracks, the construction of 6 tracks was completed, and the three-star certification of the "Evaluation Standards for Green Snow Sports Venues" was obtained. After the game, on the basis of serving the public, combined with the competition requirements of the Winter Olympic Games, we will create a comprehensive venue for competitive sports and mass sports.
