From February 4 to 6, Chinese President Xi Jinping attended the opening ceremony of the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing, holding a welcome banquet for foreign heads of state, heads of government, members of the royal family and heads of international organizations who came to China to attend the opening ceremony, and held a number of face-to-face meetings. From the Beijing Winter Olympics to the scene of major country diplomacy, positive signals are coming.

China's capabilities and efforts have been widely praised. The Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics is the first global comprehensive sports event to be held as scheduled since the outbreak of the new crown pneumonia epidemic. IOC President Bach pointed out that the Beijing Winter Olympics will eventually be held as scheduled, especially in the current situation of the spread of the Olmikron strain in the world, which once again demonstrates China's determination, efficiency and vitality. In his opening remarks, Bach thanked China for allowing everyone to participate safely in the Winter Olympics.

The international community has given strong support to China in hosting the Winter Olympic Games. More than 30 international dignitaries attended the opening ceremony of the Winter Olympics. China and Russia practice the "Covenant of the Winter Olympics" and the exchange of Visits to the Olympic Games has become a manifestation and a good tradition of close relations between the two heads of state. The presidents of Turkmenistan, Egypt and other countries, in the absence of athletes in their own countries, still deliberately came to Beijing to "hold the scene", showing their sincerity and sincerity. Serbia is about to hold general elections, and President Vucic, chairman of the ruling Party forward, has come to China at a time when the domestic political agenda is very tight, highlighting the hardcore friendship between the two countries. During his visit to China, Argentine President Fernández also visited the Historical Exhibition Hall of the Communist Party of China, and during his talks with President Xi Jinping, he expressed his high respect for all the work and great achievements made by the Communist Party of China for the Chinese people... In contrast, some Western countries have politicized sports, engaged in political manipulation, and vainly tried to "contain China with Austria." The result was only a farce, with few responders and unpopularity.

The global development initiative proposed by China has broadly gathered consensus. In recent days, keywords such as unity and development have been mentioned many times in Beijing's intensive diplomatic activities. When meeting with UN Secretary-General António Guterres, President Xi Jinping pointed out that at present and for some time to come, there are three major events in the world that deserve serious consideration and attention: one is to unite against the epidemic; the other is to promote development; and the third is to promote democracy. China issued a joint statement with Russia, Ecuador, Argentina, Mongolia, Pakistan and other countries. Whether it is support and engagement, or reaffirming a willingness to continue work on the initiative, these statements underscore the appeal and impact of the Global Development Initiative.

In the "Covenant of the Winter Olympics", there are also cooperation plans. At the relevant meetings, China and Russia focused on explaining their common positions on the concepts of democracy, development, security and order, emphasizing that the strategic significance of bilateral relations is unprecedentedly prominent; Pakistan is willing to actively promote the construction of the second phase of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, strengthen cooperation with China in the fields of industry, agriculture and information technology, and help Pakistan improve its economic development level; Monaco hopes to promote cooperation between the two sides in the fields of economy and trade, communications, environmental protection, oceans and biodiversity conservation to achieve more fruitful results, and support China in running the Kunming Convention on Biological Diversity. The 15th Phase II meeting of the Conference of the Parties; the UAE is willing to promote the better implementation of the "Belt and Road" initiative in the Middle East... At present, the world needs a successful Winter Olympics, and it also needs all parties to strengthen their willingness to cooperate and clarify the direction of cooperation.

Virtue is not alone, but there will be neighbors. The simple, safe and wonderful Beijing Winter Olympics will surely go down in history, and China's diplomacy, which will take advantage of the momentum, will certainly bear fruitful results.
