According to a report by the Taiwan media "Zhongshi News Network" on 10 February, after the Taiwan DEMOCRATIC Progressive Party authorities announced the lifting of the ban on food in 5 Japanese counties and cities in Fukushima, the Kuomintang named names on its Facebook account on 10 February, including Lai Ching-te, deputy leader of the DPP authorities, and other DPP figures who in the past claimed to be "firmly opposing nuclear disaster food." They asked them to look at their previous commitments to the people of Taiwan, show their political conscience, and bravely say no to the DPP administrative departments.

The Chinese Kuomintang said in a Facebook post that Lai Ching-te, deputy leader of the DPP authorities, said in the Tainan City Council in 2016 that "food in Fukushima cannot be imported at one hundred percent", and in the same year, Taoyuan Mayor Zheng Wencan said in an interview with the media that "refusing to nuclear food is the people's distrust and non-anti-Japanese", Pingtung County Governor Pan Meng'an said in the Pingtung County Council that "Food in Fukushima County will never be imported"; Hsinchu Mayor Lin Zhijian also said in the Hsinchu City Council in the same year that "signing strongly supports the KMT party group's refusal to enter Hsinchu City". Chen Ju, head of Taiwan's supervision department, said in parliament that he "opposes any import of radiation-contaminated food."

In addition, Keelung Mayor Lin Youchang also said in the parliament in 2016 that he currently "does not agree" with the loss of food from 5 counties and cities including Fukushima in Japan, and the people's food safety is the most important; DPP Secretary General Lin Xiyao said in an interview that "we have never opened up the import of radiation-contaminated food"; LIN Shufen, a representative of the DPP public opinion, has arrested the illegal loss of food from 5 counties and cities in Fukushima, saying that "officials and businessmen collude to deliberately kill people"; Chen Tingfei, a representative of the DPP public opinion, responded to the Japanese media, saying when talking about the DPP's plan to open nuclear food in 2016. Taiwan and Japan are not friendly and unlimited."

The KMT criticized that when the DPP was in the opposition, it had spoken out against the import of "nuclear disaster food" to the end and would insist on defending the people's food safety, but the DPP authorities opened up the import of "nuclear food" into Taiwan without full communication and procedural justice, which disappointed the entire people. If the DPP chooses what was yesterday and what is not, and if it writes cheques in the sky, it will certainly be sanctioned by the people with their votes. (Source: Taiwan Net)
