Life and career

Junichi Masuda was born in Kanagawa Prefecture. Later, he lived for a while in Kyushu, which is the prototype of the game's Fengyuan place. As a teenager, he developed a keen interest in telescopic horns and classical music, and later worked on arcade games and program development. In 1989, he founded Game Freak with Tomochi Tajiri and others.

Junichi Masuda's first job at Game Freak was composing music for the game Quinty, released in 1990. He later worked on Mario and Walio, released in 1993, and Pulseman, released in 1994.

Junichi Masuda, the sole composer of the Pokémon Red-Green Edition, developed a program called "Sound Driver" in the early 1990s to create sound effects for music and Game Freak title screens. Later this app was also used to create the sounds of the original Pokémon.
