Jilin: Ice and snow into "Golden Mountains and Silver Mountains"

Three years ago, Jiang Wendi felt the increasingly strong atmosphere of ice and snow sports across the country, and she also joined in and began to ski. Now, Jiang Wendi, who likes to skate veneer, can change blades smoothly, and has also mobilized many friends around him to join the ice and snow sports team.

This snow season, snowboard instructor An Fengchao is so busy that he has almost no time to rest. Every morning from 8 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., he was busy on the snow. Many of his trainees came to Jilin to ski from Tianjin, Shanghai, Hangzhou, Guangzhou and other places.

An Fengchao, 31, has been teaching skiing for 10 years. When he first started skiing, he wanted to find himself a sport that he could do in winter.

After the successful bid for the 2015 Beijing Winter Olympics, An Fengchao in Changchun felt that the heat of ice and snow sports was increasing year by year. He found that in previous years, the ski resort was only full on holidays, and now the ski resort is crowded every day, and the queue time for each link is about 20 minutes.

Four years ago, An Fengchao also founded a ski club, and now the club's more than 30 coaches are also spinning every day. Since last year, he has given up his previous job to become a full-time ski instructor. At present, An Fengchao's teaching schedule for the whole year of 2022 has been fully arranged, and he will teach outdoor skiing in Jilin Province in winter and teach at indoor ski resorts in the south in other seasons.

Seeing the heat of the ice and snow economy, Xu Bohan, who is engaged in the automotive automation industry, does not want to miss the opportunity. Last year, he started his second business and started a ski club that provides members with ski equipment selection, ski teaching, travel and accommodation.

Six years ago, Xu Bohan's family from Changchun moved to Shanghai. He found that more and more southern friends went to Jilin Province to ski in winter. Now, Xu Bohan's daughter from elementary school has joined the Shanghai district-level ski team, and in winter, she will follow the ski team to the ski resorts in Jilin City for training.

According to the "Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games Sports Heritage Report (2022)" released by the Beijing Winter Olympic Organizing Committee, from the successful bid for the Beijing Winter Olympic Games to October 2021, the number of residents across the country who have participated in ice and snow sports is 346 million, and the participation rate of ice and snow sports is 24.56%.

"Ice and snow are also golden mountains and silver mountains" has become a reality in Jilin Province. Once a niche ice and snow sport, it is accepted and loved by more and more ordinary families and young people.

According to data from the Department of Culture and Tourism of Jilin Province, during this year's Spring Festival, Jilin Province received 9.3414 million domestic tourists, an increase of 13.9% year-on-year, and tourists from all over the country came to Jilin Province to experience powder snow.

It is understood that Jilin Province belongs to the world's golden latitude belt of ice and snow, and is one of the world's three major powder snow bases, with a long snowfall period and abundant snowfall. Snow in ski resorts such as Changbai Mountain has a small water content and clear particles, and there is a sense of floating when gliding on it. At the same time, ice and snow tourism products such as "ice and snow + leisure", "ice and snow + culture" and "ice and snow + health care" have also released a strong attraction.

This winter, more than 100 ice sculptures and snow sculptures were built in Changchun. Parks in Changchun, Jilin, Yanbian and other cities and prefectures have also been built into ice and snow parks, becoming popular punching spots for children and young people.

In the current snow season, the attention, pre-sale and page views of ice and snow tourism in Jilin Province rank first in the domestic ice and snow market. Zhang Wenguang, deputy director of the Department of Culture and Tourism of Jilin Province, introduced that the ice and snow economy in Jilin Province has risen, and the region has shown the characteristics of "west ice and east snow", the east is the Changbai Mountain Snow Economic Zone with rich powder snow resources, the west is the ice economic zone dominated by winter fishing culture such as Songyuan Chagan Lake and Baicheng Momog, and the central part is the ice and snow dual energy economic zone with a large number of snow fields and ice rinks in Changchun and Jilin Cities.

Since the end of November last year, ice and snow activities and events in Jilin Province have been launched. The opening of Changchun Ice and Snow Xintiandi, which is equivalent to the area of 223 football fields, coupled with a series of ice and snow activities such as the Ice and Snow Festival, the Snow Mountain Electric Syllable Festival, and the Alpine Snowboard Challenge, has led to a boom in ice and snow tourism consumption in various cities in Jilin Province.

At present, Jilin Province has 54 ski resorts and 279 ski slopes, with a maximum daily capacity of 100,000 passengers, ranking first in China. "The Winter Olympics are in Beijing, the experience is in Jilin", Jilin Province is becoming a world-class ice and snow tourism destination.
