The NBA trading window is about to close at 4 a.m. on Feb. 11. No trades can be made in the season after the trade deadline date and can only be opened after the end of the season. With the trading deadline approaching, the NBA trading market is starting to come alive.
To take stock of two noteworthy trades that have recently occurred in the NBA:
1. The Pacers traded Sabonis, Lamb, Justin Holliday and a 2027 second-round pick to the Kings, with Hield, Teres Halliburton and Tristan Thompson. When the deal is struck, the Pacers will be below the luxury tax line by $615,000.
Pacers forward Miles Turner learned of the trade and immediately expressed his euphoria about partnering Harry Burton, who will also play the team's center position.
2. The second deal came from the Trailblazers and Pelicans. According to multiple sources, the Blazers traded CJ McCollum, Larry Nance Jr. and forward Tony Snell to the Pelicans, receiving the Pelicans' Josh Hart, Tomash Satoransky, Nikiel Alexander Walker, Marcos Lozada Silva, a 2022 first-round pick and two future second-round picks.
McCollum's arrival will bring a rare experience and vitality to the young Pelicans. At present, the Pelicans already have young players with full potential, including Zion Williams, Ingram and so on. The Pelicans also said they want to add a veteran and offensive organizer who has already made a difference to help the team achieve its goal of reaching the playoffs. So far in the regular season, McCollum has averaged 35.2 minutes per game, 20.5 points, 4.3 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 1.0 steals.
Players who are still likely to be traded include James Harden, Ben Simmons, Dennis Schroeder, Julius Randle, Kemba Walker and many other powerful players. Which deal would you expect more?
