According to multiple sources, the Blazers traded CJ McCollum, Larry Nance Jr. and forward Tony Snell to the Pelicans, receiving the Pelicans' Josh Hart, Tomash Satoransky, Nikiel Alexander Walker, Marcos Lozada Silva, a 2022 first-round pick and two future second-round picks.

McCollum's arrival will bring a rare experience and vitality to the young Pelicans. At present, the Pelicans already have young players with full potential, including Zion Williams, Ingram and so on. The Pelicans also said they want to add a veteran and offensive organizer who has already made a difference to help the team achieve its goal of reaching the playoffs. So far in the regular season, McCollum has averaged 35.2 minutes per game, 20.5 points, 4.3 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 1.0 steals.
