"Co-Bilitsa" is a conceptual design that revitalizes the central residential area of Sofia through a powerful dialogue between contemporary architectural design and centuries-old traditions and culture. Residential, office, commercial and entertainment functions are integrated in a composition inspired by the traditional Bulgarian way of life, with unique visual effects and strong impact, and the design team created an "urban oasis".
The unusual cornice curve created by the architect Master Kolyu Ficheto is known as "Fichevska kobilitsa" in Bulgarian Renaissance architecture. Kobilitsa is a metaphor for the way of life and relationship with the environment of the Bulgarian people and a symbol of sustainable development, giving the project its shape and name.
The building has a total of 25 floors: 4 underground and 21 above ground. -The 2nd, -3rd and 4th floors are underground parking lots for building residents, office staff and visitors. At these levels are technical and warehouse areas for building maintenance. - 1, 0, +1, +2 floors (podium) with public functions: shopping mall with various shops, art gallery, kids club, restaurant and wellness centre with gym, beauty salon and spa.
The aim of the project is to create a distinctive place that provides a preliminary start for the future development of this region of Sofia and creates a new easily identifiable location.
