In 1971, this double tiger ear cockroach pattern copper was excavated from the Spring and Autumn Tomb of Jiahui Yangjia Village, Gongcheng Yao Autonomous County, Guangxi Province. It is a wine vessel from the Spring and Autumn period. We can see that, for the convenience of hand-holding, the shoulders of this bronze are cleverly decorated with two tigers that are opening their mouths and standing and looking back.
In terms of appearance, this double tiger ear cockroach pattern copper reed is basically the same as similar artifacts in the Central Plains in the same period. However, from the perspective of the style of ornamentation, its crab pattern is relatively rough and concise, and the crab pattern is relatively fine and complex, which has typical Chu cultural characteristics. This bronze vessel traveled thousands of mountains and rivers to Guangxi, reflecting that before the Qin Dynasty, the Lingnan Yue people had frequent remote exchanges with neighboring ethnic groups and the Central Plains, which can also be said to be a manifestation of ethnic integration.
