Delta virus hits: Community petition Niantic to continue restrictive measures for Pokémon Go games

author:cnBeta

Niantic has withdrawn several of the restrictions imposed on Pokémon Go during the pandemic and encouraged players to play outdoors. However, with the new delta virus raging, the community petitioned the game company to continue to impose restrictions, because the epidemic in many areas has not been fully controlled.

Twitter user Poké Jungle said: "As the COVID-19 delta variant swept the country, Poké GO restored its rotation distance in the United States. Here's what's going on in the U.S. over the past 30 days. Shame on @NianticLabs. Retweet and tell them that the health of your fans should come first! ”

Even with fan feedback, Niantic appears to have pushed through many of the previously outlined changes in New Zealand and the US and plans to continue rolling them out. This includes changing or deleting the following bonuses:

Incense effectiveness returns to normal when stationary and increases when moving.

● As players will collect more items from outside Poké Stops, the frequency of Buddy Pokémon gifts will be reduced.

● Poké Stop and Gym interaction distance will return to normal, but may increase in some cases or during an event.

Remote Raids will also be overhauled in the near future as Niantic tries to balance them out with in-person raids.

As of now, it seems that the Poké Stop interaction distance is the main change, reduced from 80 meters to the original 40 meters. Based on the data in the app, the interaction distance between the gym and the remote range remains the same.
