Wuhan Evening News (reporter Tang Zhifeng correspondent Wang Zhizhong Zhou Xian) "Woke up, woke up, 19 bed Zhang big sister, is the one who has been in a coma for more than two months, she woke up." In the past two days, the medical staff of the Neurosurgery Department of the Third People's Hospital of Hubei Province (Zhongshan Hospital in Hubei Province) have been particularly excited, because they have cared for Sister Zhang, who has been in a deep coma for more than two months, and woke up on July 20.

"Call, call, there is a patient with cerebral hemorrhage in the CT room, who has been unconscious, ask the neurosurgeon to rush to the CT room." In the early morning of May 10, the neurosurgery department of the hospital had just finished its shift, when suddenly, an emergency call from the green passage of the stroke broke the tranquility of the department.

The patient, Zhang Dajie, 53 years old, lives in Wuchang, and was found by his family at about 6:30 in the morning to have weakness, inability to speak, impaired consciousness and accompanied by vomiting, and his family rushed him to the Third People's Hospital of Hubei Province for rescue.

"Cranial CT shows massive bleeding in the right side of the brain, judging that the right basal ganglion intracerebral hemorrhage has broken into the ventricles, bilateral mydriasis, weak spontaneous breathing, and blood pressure as high as 219/120 mmHg." The patient's life is at stake at this point.

Professor Li Jun, director of neurosurgery, judged that if the operation is not performed immediately, the patient may die at any time, but the risk of surgery is extremely high, and even if it is successful, the hope of the patient waking up is still slim. After urgent communication with the patient's family, the family decided to do surgery to fight for a glimmer of life.

The thrilling operation was successful after 4 hours, and Sister Zhang was successfully pushed out of the operating room.

But the test and difficulty is not over, after the operation, Zhang Dajie is in a deep coma, weak spontaneous breathing, the formation of ventilator dependence, long-term bedridden, but also let her appear in the lower limbs deep vein thrombosis, limb scrap atrophy, joint contractures and a series of complications.

All medical staff of the Department of Neurosurgery and the patient's family work side by side and work together, guarding the patient's bedside day and night, closely monitoring and observing changes in the condition, predicting various possible bad signs in advance, and preventing the deterioration of the condition.

When Sister Zhang was in a coma for a month, her family members also had a collapse and even wanted to give up treatment. "At this point, it is not easy for you and us, although the patient is not awake, there is still hope, hold on a little longer, fight for it again." Tube bed doctor Wang Zhizhong comforted the family.

"I always remember the day when I brought food to my mother, I called out to her, my mother's eyelids moved, and I was trembling with excitement." Sister Zhang's daughter recalled the scene when her mother woke up, still choking. On July 20, Sister Zhang, who had been in a deep coma for more than 60 days, woke up.

At present, Sister Zhang is actively exercising, and her speech and self-eating ability are gradually recovering.
