Poirot's First Trio – "Poirot Season 2"

Today, let's talk about the British drama "Poirot Season 2".
Titled Agatha Christie's Poirot Season 2 (1990), the film is nicknamed Detective Poirot The Legend.
"Grandma" Agatha Christie and Conan Doyle are both detective novels, but their works have obvious stylistic differences.
Grandma's detective novels focus on detectives, such as the Poirot series, where poirot sees things that the reader/audience sees, and when these clues are strung together, smart people will discover the truth. Behind the detective story, the focus is on human nature. So the Poirot we see is also a very humane little old man.
Conan Doyle's detective novels focus on fiction, and it's easier to remember the character of Holmes, along with his best friend Watson and nemesis Jim Moriarty. More importantly, the reader/audience sees Holmes and knows that the case is stable, because Holmes can grasp the information that the reader/audience does not have.
The second season is still 10 episodes, taking the approach of two long stories and eight short stories, continuing to present the wisdom of the great detective Poirot.
The first episode of Perilat End House and the tenth episode of The Mysterious Affair atStyles are both about 100 minutes long and are entirely regular films.
The remaining eight episodes are taken from "The Masked Woman" and "The Prime Minister's Kidnapping", and perfectly present short stories in the volume of a regular TV series.
This season also describes the initial acquaintance of Poirot and Hastings, needless to say that it is because of the case that the two became golden partners.
In the final episode of "The Strange Case of Stiles Manor", Poirot, who has just arrived in England, meets again with Hastings and Japp and becomes a regular trio. Apparently, Poirot, Hastings and Japp met in Belgium and solved the case together. Specific cases will be reserved for later.
This season, Poirot's image is more plump, he is a cute little old man who is afraid of heights and afraid of flying, and he is also a obsessive-compulsive disorder who pursues details meticulously. He is a little conceited, but looking at his super smart face that can solve the case, everyone has maintained kindness and tolerance for him.
The story takes place after World War I, and Hastings, who returns from the battlefield, is still plagued by the aftermath of the war from time to time, and this is also shown many times in the play. In order to undertake the task of lightening and funny, Hastings is still a severe straight male cancer patient, who has no understanding of women, and can only pursue women with his own enthusiasm and brute force, and there are many laughs.
There are a lot of Chinese elements in this season, but it is not a positive image. Maybe Grandma has some misunderstanding of the image of Chinese, and all orientals are evil images, either breaking the law or allowing the introduction of illegal and criminal acts. In the play, a Chinaman is a mouthful, and I have a little doubt that the word was not a discriminatory word at that time.
The second season of "Poirot" is also 10 episodes.
01 The Strange Case of Cliff House (Peril at End House)
Short comment: For money, for love. The majority of men should have a clear understanding, and beautiful women take the initiative to come to talk, certainly not because they are handsome and attractive.
02 The Veiled Lady (originally included in Poirot's Early Cases)
Short comment: Transfer flowers and elderly trees, borrow power to fight. Even the best fox can't fight a hunter.
03 The Lost Mine (originally included in Poirot's Early Cases)
Short comment: Planting stolen frames, divert attention. China and Vietnam are all monkeys in the eyes of Westerners...
04 The Cornish Mystery (originally included in The Masked Woman Poirot's Early Cases)
Short Review: A case that makes Poirot very remorseful. Seemingly suspicious, the criminals are still for money in the end.
05 The Disappearance of Mr. Davenheim (originally included in Poirot Investigates, Prime Minister Kidnapping)
Short Comment: Corrupt elements have dug their hearts and minds and spent all their minds on crooked ways.
06 Double Sin (originally included in The Masked Woman Poirot's Early Cases and Double Sin and Other Stories)
Short comment: Mourning is greater than heart death, the arrogant little old man Poirot's emotional trough period, shouting to retire. The bad guys want to get cheap and sell well, and the result is easily recognized.
07 The Adventure of the Cheap Flat (originally included in Poirot Investigates, Prime Minister Kidnapping)
Short comment: Criminals want to find the same celebrity to be their own substitute ghost, and are easily recognized by Poirot. Grandma also spared no effort to ridicule the Americans, rude and vulgar and did not pay attention to the rules, it seems that Grandma's heart out of The United Kingdom will not be able to see the eye.
08 The Kidnapped Prime Minister (originally included in Poirot Investigates the Prime Minister Kidnapping)
Short Comment: The irish national independence forces' plans for many years have been seen through by Poirot. A foreigner who stays out of the way can certainly not understand the hardships of national independence, but fortunately, as long as the detective finds out the truth, he does not have to judge right or wrong.
09 The Adventure of the Western Star (originally included in Poirot Investigates the Prime Minister Kidnapping)
Short comment: The bad guy wants to transfer the flowers and elderberry, and it is cracked by Poirot. It seems that Chinese like diamonds, which are also the scams of modern hype, and traditional Chinese people still prefer colorful and allegorical gemstones.
10 The Mysterious Affair at Styles (Monograph)
Short comment: Too rich is not good, attracting a group of people to covet their own property, rich old women died under the calculation of the closest people, fortunately Poirot can tell the truth. This case occurred when Poirot first arrived in England, and had just teamed up with Hastings to solve the case.
