Gymnastics is still popular in our country, and the results of our national team in this project are also good, and a number of the world's top athletes have been trained.
Today, I want to introduce you to a legendary "gymnastics queen" from Romania, and one of the brightest stars in the history of gymnastics in the world, she is Nadia Komaneć.
In the seventies and eighties of the last century, Komaneć was definitely a representative of women's gymnastics. In 1976, at the age of 14, she surprised the world with her first magical performance at the Montreal Olympics. At that time, she won three titles in the women's gymnastics competition: the individual all-around, the uneven bars and the balance beam. In the high and low bar competition, she conquered the audience and judges with flawless movements, and miraculously won the first full score in the history of gymnastics in the world - 10 points, and she suddenly got 7 full scores, and she is still a female athlete who likes gymnastics and is still a woman athlete who likes gymnastics.
Then at the 1980 Moscow Olympic Games, Komanech won another gold medal in balance beam and free gymnastics, accumulating the number of individual gold medals to 5, and in these two Olympic Games, she won a total of 5 gold, 3 silver and 1 bronze. As she grew older, she also began to fade out of gymnastics, announcing her retirement in 1984. But she has since been promoting gymnastics and has also served as a coach for the Romanian gymnastics team.
But even such a gymnastics legend also has a period of unbearable suffering. Since the situation was a dictator's world, evil eyes were on her, so she was physically and mentally devastated by the dictatorial leader. The experience also became a pain she could not face.
Finally, in 1989, she escaped the clutches of the devil and went to the United States, and then married an American gymnast in 1996 to start a stable life. And her achievements and experience have also been constantly respected by people. In 1999, she won the 20th Century Athlete award, for which she won international recognition for her achievements on the field.
