In 2004, the Dahe drama "New Selection Group" introduced the rise and fall of the new selection group from a historical perspective and film and television techniques, the plot was ups and downs, and the ending of the main characters was regrettable; "New Selection Group Strange Story" introduced the rise and fall of the new selection group from the perspective of animation; "Thin Cherry Ghost" removed the fictional factors of the ghost god, and the main line was more in line with the history of the new selection group.

The shin-kuni group started out as a ragtag bunch of ronin and eventually became an important force in the shogunate, receiving special commendations from the emperor and the shogun, and the deputy head of the shin-elect group even served as the shogunate's chief of war. But eventually, with the demise of the shogunate, the new selection group also disappeared. The rise and fall of the new selection group is due to fate and the tragedy of the times.

The predecessor of the new selection group was a ronin organization in Edo. The so-called ronin are samurai who have no lord, no economic resources, and are not subject to the state. The founder of the new selection group is named Kiyokawa Hachiro, the eldest son of a local tycoon in the Izuwa Kingdom, and this rich second generation learned kendo from an early age.
In the fifth year of Ansei (1858), the signing of the "Ansei Treaty" that shocked Japan occurred, and Japan wanted to open up and grant privileges to the five countries of the United States, Britain, the Netherlands, France, and Russia. It was an unequal treaty, and the civil movement was on the rise. Hachiro Kiyokawa also participated in the Yokohama demonstration against the treaty, which later became a smash-and-burn demonstration. Subsequently, the shogunate's eldest, I-Naohiro, implemented an iron-fisted policy, arrested a large number of opponents, and raised the "Anzheng Prison". Civil protests and demonstrations were of little use, and the signing of the treaty was irreversible.

In the second year of Bunjo (1862), in order to suppress the yi, a large number of ronin people from all over the country gathered in Edo, including the Qinghe River. In response to the fact that the Ronin people used the name of Shogi to do evil, and the Edo security was extremely chaotic, Kiyokawa gave the high-ranking shogun Matsudaira Keinaga an idea -- to recruit the Ronin and gather them together, one could maintain law and order in Kyoto, and the other could quell the evil deeds of the Ronin. Matsudaira Keinaga felt that this method was too good to kill two birds with one stone.

At the end of the year, the shogun was going to Kyoto to receive the emperor's edict, and in order to protect the shogun's safety in Kyoto, the shogunate finally began to recruit the Anlang people, ordered Matsudaira Tadayoshi to rule the Ronin, and formed the Ronin Group to maintain law and order in Kyoto. The leader of the Ronin group is Hachiro Kiyokawa.
The threshold for joining the group is very low, as long as the body is strong, and can be loyal to the country, whether old or young, noble, or low, regardless of the level of occupation, can join. Isamu Kondo, Togata, and Okita all joined at this time.

The purpose of the shogun's ascension to the capital was to accept the emperor's edict, but the shogun knew that shogun was impossible, so he was vague about the matter of shogunate. The general's vague approach displeased a large number of people. In the third year of Bunku (1863), the war between the British and the Satsuma Domain broke out, and the Japanese nation was indignant and shouted against the British invasion, but the general did not give orders.

There was a split within the Langs. Kiyokawa Hachiro was a complete rebel, and at that time he openly proposed that the purpose of entering Beijing this time was "not Samuku." As a result, Kiyokawa took most of the men and horses with him, and returned to Yokohama in the east. The shogunate was extremely hostile to this practice of ignoring the shogun, and without stopping, the shogunate sent people to assassinate Kiyokawa Hachirō, purged the Langshi group of Donggui, and killed all the hard-line rebels among the leaders of Donggui, such as Ishiban Shuzo and Tetsutaro Yamaoka. After the purges, the remnants of the Langshi Group in Donggui were renamed the New Formation and were incorporated into the Shonai Domain.

When the Kyoto Langshi group was divided, Kiyokawa disobeyed the shogun's orders, and Kondo Wasamu was different, he believed that this time he came to Beijing to protect the shogun, should not do disloyalty to the shogun's order, he firmly believed that Japan should be under the rule of the emperor, led by the shogun, the public and military ensemble together to suppress the shogunate, so he led his cronies and a small number of people and horses in the roshi group to camp in the village of Nobu, waiting for the shogun's orders, and his team was also known as the "Nongsheng Roshi Team".

The purpose of the "Nongsheng Langshi Team" was to protect the shogun and be loyal to their duties, but they did not eat the shogunate, so that the shogunate praised it one after another. Matsudaira Ronho, who was the guardian of Kyoto, felt that it would be a good idea to use ronin who obeyed the shogunate to suppress the radical ronin, so he accepted a "Nongyu Ronin" of more than 20 people, and gave each of them three or two gold per month to buy 1.2 stones of rice.
However, they are not yet state staff, but only temporary workers. The daily duties of the "Nongsheng Langshi" are to patrol Kyoto, assisting the regular samurai of the shogunate in maintaining law and order in Kyoto, and the personnel are more like security guards and auxiliary police.
In April of the third year of Bunhisa (1863), the shogun inspected Osaka Bay, and Kondo and others accompanied him for protection. Kondo was very impressed this time, and as soon as the shogunate was pleased, it allowed him to expand the ranks, with Isamu Kondo and Serizawa Kamo jointly serving as the captains, Nishimi Nishiki, Yamanami Keisuke, and Togata as the deputy chiefs, and Okita as the deputy chief assistant, thus establishing a new selection system in the future.

Since then, conflicts have broken out within the Kyoto Imperial Court over whether to merge the two sides of the imperial court. In August of the third year of The Reign of Emperor Fumihisa, pro-shogunate forces dismissed seven ministers of the imperial court who sympathized with Choshu, known as the "August 18 Coup". In the coup d'état, the Nongsheng Langshi team took a firm political stance, patrolling the front gate street of the palace during the day and garrisoning the southern gate of the palace at night, and successfully completed the task of defending the palace. This dedication to duty passed into the emperor's ears, and as a compliment, the emperor gave them a new name, a new selection group, and they finally became the regular army under the kyoto guardianship.
Ōuchi Guardian Governor Hitotsubashi Keiki, Shogun Kyoto Shodai Sanga domain lord Matsudaira Dingkei, and Shogun Kyoto Guardian Aizu Domain Lord Matsudaira Yōho were all staunch Samuchi factions who advocated the integration of public and military forces.

After the August 18 Coup, the Kobu faction took full control of Kyoto, with Keiki Hitotsubashi, Tsuneyoshi Matsudaira, and Matsudaira Eiho controlling kyoto politics as the emperor's spokesmen. In Kyoto, they wantonly hunted down the Shogi faction, and in the process of the search, the new selection group made great efforts to destroy a series of secret strongholds of the Shogi faction, arrested a large number of Shogi elements, raided Ikedaya, and severely damaged the Shogi faction, so the shin-kun group received special praise from the emperor and the shogun. Then, in the "Forbidden Gate Change" in which the Shogi faction attacked the Imperial Palace and robbed the emperor, the newly selected group cooperated with the shogunate army to attack the Shogi faction's army, completely annihilating the Shogi faction. The new selection ushered in a highlight moment.

Captain Isamu Kondo was captured alive by the government and beheaded; Deputy Governor Togata Continued to resist in exile in the north, serving as Minister of War of the Republic of Ezo and died in battle at Hakodate; Deputy Commander Sukesuke and Captain Ichiban, Okita Soji, died of illness; Deputy Commander Sukeshiro Yamazaki was killed in battle; Second Captain Nagakura Shinhachi surrendered to the new government, and once wanted to participate in the Sino-Japanese War and invade China.
When the new selection group ushered in its heyday, the decline was also coming. Lao Tzu Yun: "Holding on to profit is not as good as oneself." "The prosperous will decline, and the new electorate will be completely destroyed with the shogunate."
