Gaspart: After signing Messi for free, I knew I was going to be the president of the best club in the world

In an interview with Radio Macca, former Barca president Gaspard expressed his views on Dembele's situation, the signing of Messi and the club's financial situation.

About Dembele

As long as Dembele is a Barca player, he deserves to be given a chance to play. We're not here to teach anybody, he has to play and he's going to get paid. Dembele will get what he deserves, he's a very good player. At the end of the season, his contract expires, and he leaves if he wants to. He played well without injury. Unless he doesn't get paid when he doesn't play, I'll let him play.

Regarding Laporta's claim that the club's corrupt practices will be thoroughly investigated

This is easy to say, but the investigation should continue only if such facts exist. Laporta first needs to have a cup of coffee with Bartomeu, and the two of them have a chat together. For a Barça president, he must respect the previous president as much as possible.

In all the clubs, it seems that the new management will do their best to discredit the previous management, because it will make their current work more positive.

About signing Messi

I know what it's like to be empty in a bamboo basket, and who didn't make a mistake when signing a player? When we don't spend a penny to sign Messi, I know he's going to be the best player in the world and I'm going to be the president of the best club in the world.

If you make a mistake when signing a player, you should look forward rather than regret what you have done. Laporta should give Bartomeu a chance to prove that what he says is not the truth.

Everything is public at Barca, but this is not the case for Real Madrid. No one knows what the exact numbers are for Real Madrid in terms of finances. All we know is that Real Madrid are helmed by a super businessman, and of the 800 people, it's hard to have two people who stand up and say they don't agree with something, and the situation is different for Barca.
