Everybody: Barca will make a final attempt to sign Tagliafico, with Balde likely to be added to the deal

According to the Daily Sports newspaper, at a time when the transfer window is about to close, Barca look determined to sign a full-back to compete with Alba, and they lock in Ajax's Tagliafico, but the deal will be very complicated.

Tagliafico is currently focusing on the Argentine national team, but before returning to South America, he and Ajax reached an agreement where the club allowed him to leave in this transfer window. However, Ajax wants a compensation payment, which is between 7 million euros and 8 million euros.

Tagliafico and Ajax' contracts expire in 2023 and what the club doesn't want to happen to Onana and Mazlawi ends up at The Argentine full-back. Onana and Mazlawi and Ajax are both due to expire this summer and there are no contract extensions with the club, so they will leave on their free feet this summer at the latest.

Ajax wanted to plant a forced buyout clause in Tagliafico's loan contract, but Barca were reluctant to do so. For the Red and Blues, they want a buyout option. Barca have already started talks with Ajax sporting director Ovimas, and the deal could eventually come to fruition.

Due to Barca's very poor financial situation, coupled with the restrictions of the Financial Fairness Act, Ajax will ask for a Barça player as compensation. The most likely candidate is Alejandro Balde, a youngster who failed to challenge Alba's position. After joining Ajax, he may get more playing time to prepare himself for his future career.

Of course, Balde wasn't the only name involved in the negotiations. If conditions are right, other players in Barca's squad may also be added to the trade. If the talks go well, Tagliafico will spend at least the second half of the season at Barca. As for whether he will remain at Barca, there will be negotiations between the two clubs at that time.
