Chen Qiyu (?) ~1648), also spelled Yuxuan, also spelled Jeong-yan, was a native of Baode County. In the forty-fourth year of the Ming Dynasty (1616), he served as a jinshi in Luoyang Zhi County, Henan. In the second year of the Apocalypse (1622), he was appointed to the Li Ke Zhi Zhong, and later transferred to the Hu Ke Zuo Shi Zhong. In the spring of the sixth year (1626), he was appointed deputy envoy of Shaanxi, and later changed to right suffragette. In the first year of Chongzhen (1628), he was given the post of envoy and soon served as a political envoy to Shaanxi. In the fifth year (1632), he was promoted to the position of Imperial Envoy of the Right Jin Capital, and Inspector Yan Sui.

When Chen Qiyu was in Luoyang Zhi County, he was "quite politically beneficial." When Ren Yansui was in charge, he "created coal and water conservancy, shaanxi people dezhi", and "left three thousand two gold in the state to relieve hunger", and the Shaanxi Tongzhi praised him for "meritorious service to the people" and "Qingjie you shou".

When Yang Lian impeached Wei Zhongxian, Chen Qiyu also actively participated, risking his life to appear on "Impeachment".

When Ren Yansui was the governor, he suppressed the peasant rebel army eight times and killed 177 peasant leaders. In the first month of the seventh year of Chongzhen (1634), he was promoted to the post of Right Attendant of the Bingbu and Right Attendant of Jindu, and the governor of Shaanxi, Shanxi, Henan, Huguang, and Sichuan, specializing in suppressing peasant rebellions. In June, he led his troops to pursue Gao Yingxiang, Li Zicheng, Zhang Xianzhong and other rebels in southern Shaanxi. The rebel army mistakenly entered the Chehou Gorge of Xing'an, and in the case of lack of food, horses without grass, and bows and arrows being damaged by rain, Li Zicheng bribed around with heavy money and pretended to surrender to Chen Qiyu. After Chen Qiyu was allowed to surrender, he issued 36,000 people with death tickets and sent a pacification officer to escort them back to their hometowns. After Li Zicheng and others walked out of the dangerous land, they killed the appeasers, echoed the rebels, and attacked the city and conquered the land, and the momentum was like a bamboo. In November, Chen Qiyu was arrested and imprisoned by the Ming court. On September 6, 1636, the ninth year of Chongzhen (1636), he was sent back to Baode's hometown.

In the fifth year of Qing Shunzhi (1648), he was executed because he did not shave his hair and did not want to be a Shunmin of the Qing Dynasty.
