As early as last fall, I knew through the circle of friends of the author Cheng Mingsheng that Yakou Village was about to write a book, and on the same day I corrected a small problem in the book - because it was exactly the industry I was familiar with.
As a former media person, I have been curious about the heat of Yakou Village in recent years, and almost every year I go to Yakou to watch birds and see the rice fields at sunrise.
This book is different from scholars' articles and small books on internet celebrities, starting from Sun Yat-sen's grandmother's home, retracing the century-old humanistic history of Yakou Village, telling a story of the village water conservancy memory that the world has long forgotten, the first generation of tractor drivers and the Weishui history of the Yakou Village Power Plant in the 1950s and 1960s, and more interestingly, the history of the Ancestor Worship of the Ancestors of the Yakou People to zhuhai's "Xiangshan First Village" Mountain Farm Village, all of which are the fierce materials that the author has been following the villagers while walking and talking about the excavations. It is the first-hand information that I cherish, and it is very useful to read, and all kinds of details are like a number of family treasures, as if I also followed the author back to Yakou Village again and again, and talked with the people in the village.
Eight chapters of village history, village affairs, old villagers and the new generation, just present a real and credible Yakou Village. What we have lacked over the years is not the writing of the countryside, but the lack of such non-sensational and impetuous journalist observation and thinking.
Every day, we always have a reason to go to the cliff mouth.

Cheng Mingsheng, a member of the Guangdong Writers Association, is one of the first top ten journalists in Zhongshan City, and is currently the deputy editor-in-chief of Zhongshan Daily. Born in the countryside of Xiaozhicheng, Hubei Province, he resigned from his work in the organ in 1994 and went south to catch the sea, taking the news as his profession, traveling to Dongguan and Zhuhai, and looking for the hometown of Zhongshan. In 2015, he published the documentary literary work "Big Country Empty Village", which won the first Guangdong Province "Youwei Cup" Reportage Award that year.
