According to NBA star Brian Windhorst, the Cavaliers may have set their sights on Celtic guard Dennis Schroeder.
"Today, they (the Cavaliers) received an injury exception worth $8.9 million as Rubio suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee for the season reimbursement. They can use this exception trade to get a player with a one-year contract left," Windhorst said, "and multiple league executives believe that Schroeder will be the main target [of the Cavaliers] and that he fits the trade exception." Such a deal could help the Celtics avoid taxes, but it could also help the Cavaliers play a role on the outside. ”
Windhorst also mentioned that another potential target for the Cavaliers is Rockets veteran Eric Gordon.
