International Online Report (Reporter Peng Yanyuan): On January 27, when the countdown to the opening of the Beijing Winter Olympics entered the second reading stage, the Chinese sports delegation participating in the home Winter Olympics was officially announced.

The total number of delegations was 387, including 176 athletes, which was the largest participation in the history of the Chinese Winter Olympics. The number of athletes greatly exceeded that of the last Winter Olympics, and the lineup and events were even more highlighted!

Highlights: Full Project!

The Chinese delegation has basically achieved the task of "participating in all 7 major events and all 15 sub-events" of the Beijing Winter Olympic Games, and has obtained a total of 104 minor events and 194 seats (of which 4 are "in-competition" small events that need to be reconfirmed by other minor events during the competition), accounting for more than 90% of all 109 small events.

Compared with the previous Winter Olympics, the Chinese delegation has added major events and sub-events such as ice hockey, bobsleigh and Nordic biathlon. A total of 131 athletes are participating in the Winter Olympics for the first time, and 31 athletes will appear in the history of Chinese athletes for the first time. Nordic biathlon male zhao jiawen, women's snowboard sled chaser Yang Qinglam, men's snow skills Zhao Yang and The Chinese men's men's ice hockey team will make their debuts in Chinese respective events.

The Chinese delegation was able to obtain the host quota, but the quota also had certain performance requirements and was not a free lunch. As a country that did not carry out one-third of the Winter Olympics when the winter Olympics were successful, China's winter sports have made rapid progress in just a few years.

Among the 78 coaches, 51 foreign teachers from 19 countries, including the United States, Canada, Russia, France and Japan, are also included. The most successful athlete in the history of the Winter Olympics, the Norwegian biathlon legend Bjørndalen, who has won 8 gold medals, is currently the head coach of the Chinese biathlon team! It can be seen that behind the rapid progress, adhering to the concept of openness is one of the important reasons.

Highlights: Half the Sky!

The sex ratio of the athletes in the Chinese delegation is very balanced. There are 87 female athletes and 89 male athletes, which can be described as half of the sky. This not only reflects the strong strength of China's winter sports female athletes, but also reflects the great achievements of Chinese society in continuously promoting women's participation in sports for many years.

In recent years, the International Olympic Committee has promoted the addition of mixed team events in the Summer and Winter Olympic Games, with the aim of promoting women's participation in sports and the Olympic Games. In the four new mixed team sub-events added to this Winter Olympics, the Chinese team has the strength to win the championship in both short track speed skating and aerial skills.

Chinese and the Olympic concept all the way!

Highlights: Zero Zero!

In the Chinese delegation to the Winter Olympics, the "post-zero generation" accounts for about a quarter of the total number of athletes. If you add athletes born in 1999, the number will be even greater! The youngest of them are Peng Qingyue, a female ski jumper born in 2005, and He Jinbo, a male freestyle ski slope obstacle course athlete.

Among them, Gu Ailing of freestyle skiing, Su Yiming of snowboarding, and Ning Zhongyan, a speed skater born in 1999, all have the strength to compete for the championship. Although Zhang Kexin and Wu Meng, both born in 2002, are already participating in the Winter Olympics for the second time!

Thinking of the excellent performance of Chinese post-zero athletes at last year's Tokyo Summer Olympics, the era of Chinese sports after zero has arrived!

In addition, the sports with more distribution of post-zero players are freestyle skiing and snowboarding. On the one hand, this reflects the characteristics of the above sports, which is more suitable for young athletes to produce results; on the other hand, it also reflects that Chinese young people are more enthusiastic about these winter sports.

Highlights: 4th time!

In the list, Xu Mengtao, Jia Zongyang and Qi Guangpu of freestyle skiing aerial skills, as well as Cai Xuetong and Liu Jiayu of the snowboard U-shaped venue, are all participating in the Winter Olympic Games for the fourth time, and they are the athletes who have participated in the Olympic Games the most in the delegation.

In 2006, Han Xiaopeng won the first winter olympic gold medal for China in the men's event; since then, in every event, the participating athletes have the strength to win medals and even have the advantage of the group.

Liu Jiayu is the first Chinese to win a snowboard winter Olympic medal, and she and Cai Xuetong both have the most difficult moves in the world.

This reflects that although the overall situation in the past many years is "ice strong and snow weak", in some snow sports, the Chinese team has a relatively deep accumulation.

Highlights: Dreamcatchers!

Wu Dajing, 27, is the only former Winter Olympic champion among Chinese athletes at the Winter Olympics. In Pyeongchang in 2018, he won the only gold medal in the short track speed skating men's 500m event for China. In Beijing, Wu Dajing, who is participating in the Winter Olympics for the third time, and his teammates are hoping to continue to add glory to China's most successful Winter Olympics.

As the oldest athlete in the delegation, 37-year-old men's ice hockey player Ye Jinguang and his teammates are participating in the Winter Olympics for the first time. To make their debut at home, they also realized their Winter Olympic dreams.

By the end of this Winter Olympic Games, there are likely to be more Winter Olympic champions in the list of participants, and there will be more names that realize their dreams and win glory for the country!
