The total number of delegations was 387, including 176 athletes, which was the largest participation in the history of the Chinese Winter Olympics. The number of athletes greatly exceeded that of the last Winter Olympics, and the lineup and events were even more highlighted!

The Chinese delegation has basically achieved the task of "participating in all 7 major events and all 15 sub-events" of the Beijing Winter Olympic Games, and has obtained a total of 104 minor events and 194 seats (of which 4 are "in-competition" small events that need to be reconfirmed by other minor events during the competition), accounting for more than 90% of all 109 small events.
Compared with the previous Winter Olympics, the Chinese delegation has added major events and sub-events such as ice hockey, bobsleigh and Nordic biathlon. A total of 131 athletes are participating in the Winter Olympics for the first time, and 31 athletes will appear in the history of Chinese athletes for the first time. Nordic biathlon male zhao jiawen, women's snowboard sled chaser Yang Qinglam, men's snow skills Zhao Yang and The Chinese men's men's ice hockey team will make their debuts in Chinese respective events.
The Chinese delegation was able to obtain the host quota, but the quota also had certain performance requirements and was not a free lunch. In recent years, the International Olympic Committee has promoted the addition of mixed team events in the Summer and Winter Olympic Games, with the aim of promoting women's participation in sports and the Olympic Games. In the four new mixed team sub-events added to this Winter Olympics, the Chinese team has the strength to win the championship in both short track speed skating and aerial skills.

In the Chinese delegation to the Winter Olympics, the "post-zero generation" accounts for about a quarter of the total number of athletes.
