Beijing, 27 Jan (Xinhua) -- The Year of the Tiger in the Lunar Calendar is approaching, and this reporter learned from the Beijing Municipal Park Management Center on 27 January that 11 municipal parks in Beijing, including the Summer Palace and the Temple of Heaven Park, will hold the "Fu Man Jing City Spring Celebration Shenzhou" Spring Festival Garden Tour, and launch 45 themed activities, such as welcoming the new year with ice and snow, cultural exhibitions, visiting gardens and celebrating blessings, garden science popularization, and online viewing.

Walking into the north gate of the Temple of Heaven Park, the theme flower beds with the shapes of "ice piers" and "snow melting" attracted many tourists to stop and take photos. It is understood that the environmental arrangement of the Spring Festival in Beijing Municipal Parks is based on the festive Elements of the Chinese Red and Ice and Snow Winter Olympics, using snowflakes, garden landmark architectural silhouettes, municipal park zodiac mascots and other elements, using blue powder spruce, longbai balls, large-leaf boxwood and other plants to enrich the color and texture of the flower beds, highlighting the Beijing Winter Olympics, Spring Festival atmosphere and garden characteristics.
As the Spring Festival of the Year of the Tiger approaches, Beijing Municipal Park launches the Chinese New Year mascot "Meng Meng", which is based on a female Siberian tiger from the Beijing Zoo. Cultural and creative products such as plush dolls, refrigerator stickers, and Rubik's Cubes created with the image of "Meng Meng" will be unveiled in 37 cultural and creative spaces in Beijing Municipal Parks.
Miao Xiangliu, director of the Service Management Department of Beijing Municipal Park Management Center, introduced that during the Spring Festival holiday, citizens and tourists can watch exhibitions such as the "Jade Exhibition of Ancient Chinese Animals and Plants" and the "Centennial Ice Frolic Festival" of Beihai Park, participate in classic garden activities such as sending blessing bags, cutting window flowers, and enjoying Spring Orchids, and can also watch the Summer Palace Plum Blossom Wax Plum Spring Festival Cultural Exhibition, the Temple of Heaven Park Zhonghe Shaole New Year Concert, and the Beijing Zoo Online Tiger Zodiac Cultural Exhibition.
The Beijing Municipal Park Management Center reminds visitors that they need to make an online reservation in advance, purchase tickets under their real names, go to the park according to the reservation time, abide by the epidemic prevention and control management regulations during the park visit, cooperate with scan code registration, body temperature detection, wear masks scientifically, maintain social distance of more than 1 meter, and observe in a civilized and orderly manner.
