After suffering last year's injuries and contracting the coronavirus, Nadal finally returned to the pitch after many twists and turns. Nadal performed well at the Australian Open. Previously, he fought hard with Shapovalov to advance in five sets. In this round, Nadal faced Italy's Berrettini, and in the first set, Nadal took advantage of the breakthrough in the opening stage to take the next set 6-3. In the game, Nadal was not affected by the previous five-set battle from physical fitness to form. Berrettini, on the other hand, did not perform as well as Nadal on the serve. Nadal then started the second set with the lead again, and Berrettini still did not find a way to mobilize himself in this set, resulting in being completely suppressed by his opponents. After a back-to-back successful break, Nadal went down 6-2.

In the third set, Berrettini woke up from a dream, and as his serve weapon regained its effectiveness, the balance of victory tilted in favor of the Italian players. After pulling back a set 6-3, Berrettini continued his strong serve in the fourth set. But Nadal grew more and more courageous, and after achieving a key break, he finally locked in the victory 6-3.

In this regard, Nadal beat Berrettini in four sets to reach the men's singles final of the Australian Open for the sixth time. The victory was also Nadal's 500th win of his personal Tour hard court career and his 29th grand slam final. In today's tennis world, Djokovic, Federer and Nadal have all won 20 Grand Slams. Now Nadal is one victory away from his 21st Grand Slam.
