The ninth day of the countdown to the Beijing Winter Olympics. Where will the XXIII Winter Olympics be held? The XXIII Winter Olympics will be held in Pyeongchang, South Korea, from February 9 to 25, 2018.
I. Participating Countries and Regions (92)
At least one athlete from 92 countries or regions qualified for the PyeongChang 2018 Winter Olympics. Among them, six countries, including Ecuador, Eritrea, Kosovo, Malaysia, Nigeria and Singapore, will make their debut at the Winter Olympics. 2. Competition items
The Pyeongchang Winter Olympics featured 15 events, including short track speed skating, figure skating, and freestyle skiing. Compared with the Sochi Winter Olympics four years ago, this event has added six sub-events in four events, namely snowboard jumping (men/women), speed skating group departure (men/women), mixed double curling and alpine skiing team competitions, which will compete in the most women's and mixed events in the previous Winter Olympics. As a result, the number of minor events set up at the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics reached 102, which was also the first time in the history of the Winter Olympics that the number of gold medals exceeded 100.

4. Tidbits
1. Russian athletes will use the IOC flag to compete because the Russian Olympic Committee was suspended due to doping problems during the 2014 Winter Olympic Games in Sochi.
2. At the end of the entrance ceremony, the delegations of south korea and north korea jointly entered. The flag bearers of both sides were won by South Korean bobsled player Won Young-jong and Hwang Chung-qin, a member of the Hockey League from North Korea, and when they entered with the joint delegation, the audience applauded thunderously.
