The Y-20 strategic transport aircraft arrived in Tonga with 33 tons of supplies, passing through Indonesia, Papua New Guinea and Fiji three refueling and replenishment, with a total range of nearly a kilometer.
At about 11:30 and 12:22 tongan time on the 28th, two Chinese Air Force Y-20 strategic transport aircraft carrying a total of 33 tons of materials landed at Tongannu Ku'alofa International Airport. The two planes took off from Guangzhou Baiyun Airport on the morning of January 27, passing through Indonesia's Manado International Airport, Papua New Guinea Port Morbis International Airport and Fiji's Nadi International Airport. The total route range is more than 10,000 kilometers. Figure 1 and Figure 2 below were taken while stopping in Nadi, Fiji. The third picture shows Tonga Airport.
This is the first time that the Y-20 has carried out a transeptistorial flight to the southern hemisphere, and it should be the farthest place for the Y-20 to go so far. Due to the long distance and the large number of materials carried, the landing refueling was implemented in the middle of the way. As for the third refueling in Fiji, there may be a shortage of materials in Tonga, and there is no guarantee that Tonga will have enough fuel, so it is recommended to add 1 landing in Fiji to replenish fuel in advance.
