The Metropolis newspaper published a front-page photo reporting that the English region yesterday lifted the B plan of the epidemic restrictions, and a large number of residents left their homes early yesterday morning to work in the workplace. During rush hour in the morning, trains, underground and buses returned to their pre-pandemic busy schedules, with the London Underground seeing a 9% increase in passenger usage compared to a week ago and a 20% increase in some MTR stations.

The Daily Telegraph reports that the UK's Revenue and Customs Administration is working to plug a loophole in the tax regulations involving working from home. According to the report, since 2003, in order to encourage people to work from home, a tax incentive has been introduced, and any Briton who works from home one day in a year can apply for a total of 125 pounds of tax relief in that year to pay for additional electricity bills and other expenses that may be incurred by working from home. As a result, since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic in March 2020, 4.9 million people have successfully obtained this tax relief, costing the UK Treasury almost £500 million in tax revenue.

The newspaper also reported on its front page that British health officials sent a letter to all family doctors last night, thanking them for their contributions to the vaccination programme and urging them to resume normal face-to-face outpatient services as soon as possible. The newly published Statistics for England also show that only about 61% of patients received face-to-face outpatient services from family doctors last month, less than 63% in the previous month and well below 80% before the outbreak.
