Elephant News has been tracking down reports that in 2005, Shen Junliang's son Shen Cong, who had just turned one year old, was robbed. In 2016, five suspects involved in Shen Cong's abduction case were arrested. After an all-out investigation by the Guangdong police, the main offender, Zhang Weiping, confessed that he had abducted and trafficked nine children, including Shen Cong, between 2003 and 2005. According to his confession, the 9 boys he abducted and sold were all found buyers through "Aunt Mei". At present, the identity of "Aunt Mei" has not yet been identified. Between 2003 and 2005, Zhang Weiping, a guizhou man, continued to abduct and sell nine children, including Shen Junliang's son, Shen Cong, in Huizhou and Zengcheng, Guangdong Province.

On December 28, 2018, Zhang Weiping's five-person child abduction and trafficking case was pronounced in the first instance. Zhang Weiping, who was involved in the abduction and trafficking of nine children, was sentenced to death for the crime of child abduction, and the remaining four defendants, Zhou Rongping, were sentenced to death, Yang Chaoping and Liu Zhenghong were sentenced to life imprisonment, and Chen Shoubi was sentenced to ten years in prison.

On December 10, 2021, the Guangdong Provincial High Court rendered a second-instance judgment, according to which Zhang Weiping and Zhou Rongping were sentenced to death for child trafficking, Yang Chaoping and Liu Zhenghong were sentenced to life imprisonment, and Chen Shoubi was sentenced to 10 years' imprisonment; at the same time, Zhang Weiping and the five defendants were sentenced to compensate Shen Junliang and his wife for material losses of 395,000 yuan, and demanded that compensation be completed within one month from the date of the effective date of the judgment.

On January 28, 2022, Shen Junliang revealed the latest development of the case, saying that he had not yet received compensation and had applied for compulsory enforcement. "The application has been mailed in."

The reporter noted that Shen Junliang said in the "Application for Enforcement of Criminal Attached Civil Litigation" that the five respondents who requested the execution of the (2019) Yue Xing Zhong No. 698 Criminal Incidental Civil Judgment identified by the five respondents have not yet paid the applicant 395,000 yuan in material loss compensation and interest on delayed performance.

Shen Junliang also revealed that after the verdict of the case, the defendant's family did not communicate with himself. After the compensation comes down, he plans to take out a large part of the debt first, "now he still owes 600,000 foreign debts." In addition, a small part of the subsidy for the family, because Shen Junliang, who has been looking for his son for many years, has lost his job and is currently relying on a substitute driver to make a living, and several children are in school.
