There are a large number of sutra paintings in the murals of mogao grottoes (interpreting the content of Buddhist scriptures in the form of paintings), especially in the caves of the Tang and Song dynasties, and one of the most painted sutra paintings is the Miaofa Lotus Sutra.
The "Fire House Metaphor" that I want to talk about today comes from the "Myofa Lotus Sutra", and the 12th Cave, Cave 55, Cave 61, Cave 85, Cave 419, Cave 420, and Cave 159 of Mogao Cave are all painted with pictures of "Fire House Metaphor".

In "Fire House Metaphor", three children play in a mansion and cannot extricate themselves from it. Even when the house was on fire, he didn't even realize it and didn't want to leave. An old wise man persuades the boys to leave the fire house, but the three boys still play in the game and refuse to leave.
The old man had to lure the boy with three gorgeous carts and told him, "There are ox carts, deer carts, and sheep carts outside, and if you are willing to leave this house, you can get the car." The three boys hurried out of the courtyard. At this time, the courtyard was on fire everywhere, and many demons and ghosts rode around riding monsters.
The burning house in the mural symbolizes the dangerous environment of the "boiled frog in warm water"; the three playful children symbolize the world who is greedy for stable survival and does not want to become obsessed with the world; the three gorgeous cars symbolize the new life after waking up in time, and the sooner they wake up, the better the opportunity and environment. This is to motivate people to work hard and not to be obsessed with the comfortable and comfortable living environment in front of them.
