According to the American "Overseas Chinese Daily" on January 27, the free new crown pneumonia vaccination activity co-sponsored by the office of Governor Hochur of New York, the State Department of Health, the Asian American Physician Association, and the Asian Federation of the United States was held at the Eighth Avenue Chinese Society in Brooklyn on the 27th local time, calling on the Chinese to enthusiastically vaccinate to ensure that they, their families, relatives and friends are safer during the Spring Festival reunion.

At a press conference held on the 25th, Huang Shirley, director of public relations of the Asian American Physician Association, said that although the number of infected cases in the United States has declined, the number of deaths related to new crown pneumonia has shown an upward trend, and the situation is still not optimistic. To this end, several agencies have joined forces to launch vaccination campaigns.

According to reports, the event was held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the 27th at the Sino-US Health Care Activity Center at 5721 Sixth Avenue in Brooklyn, and will provide adults aged 18 and older with the first, second and booster doses of Pfizer and Modena vaccines. Participants are required to bring proof of identity and do not need medical insurance.

Fan Xiaojiang, director of Asian Affairs in Governor Hochur's office, said that in order to help the Chinese fight against the epidemic, the governor's office, together with the Asian and American Physicians Association, has launched a number of vaccination activities in the three district Chinese communities, and she thanked all walks of life for their strong support.

Chen Shanzhuang, president of the Asian Federation, thanked the governor and the state government for their support of the event, and also used the experience of the people around him to urge the Chinese to be vaccinated. Wu Hongguang, president of the Wenzhou Hometown Association in New York, told the story of his 90-year-old father after he was fully vaccinated, using this to warn the Chinese that they must be vaccinated.

Many people attending the meeting also called on the Chinese to actively participate in the vaccination activities to protect themselves, relatives and friends and the safety of the community during the Spring Festival. (Cui Guoxuan)
