Guan Lu: By a patriotic youth, degenerated into a traitor, unmarried all his life, and accompanied by plastic dolls in his later years

author:History of Li Shu Literature

She is a talented female writer with the same name as Zhang Ailing and Ding Ling.

Her life switches back and forth between the three identities of a talented woman, a traitor, and a secret agent.

Guan Lu: By a patriotic youth, degenerated into a traitor, unmarried all his life, and accompanied by plastic dolls in his later years

She was unmarried and childless in her life, and in her later years she was accompanied by plastic dolls, but she was called the "wife of the nation".

She is Guan Lu, sent to the road of traitors by her sister, what kind of truth is hidden behind her?

01

She was born in 1907 in Youyu County, Shanxi, to a family of feudal scholars, whose original name was Hu Shoulin. She grew up in a feudal family where men were inferior to women, and although her mother had attended secondary school, she also accepted some new ideas. But the parents' feelings are not very good, and the mother has no status in the family. But the strong mother did not blindly endure, but enhanced her anti-feudal consciousness. She often taught guan lu sisters to study well and be financially independent, independent in life, and free in marriage in the future.

Living in such a family atmosphere, she not only listened to her mother's words, was industrious and studious, taught herself many languages, and developed her sensitive and observant character.

At the age of 23, she published her debut short story "Her Hometown" under the pseudonym Guan Lu, and since then everyone has habitually called her Guan Lu. Together with Zhang Ailing, Su Qing and others, they are collectively known as the "Four Talented Women of the Republic of China".

At the age of 25, she joined the Left Writers' Union. The Left-Wing Writers' Union is a revolutionary literary organization led by our Party, which was founded in Shanghai in 1930, represented by progressive figures such as Lu Xun and Xia Yan.

At the age of 32, it was the peak of her creation, and her works were mainly based on patriotic poems, including the following sentence: "It is better to fight and die for the motherland than to be a national undead." ”

Her poems full of positive energy are deeply rooted in people's hearts. At one point, she became a best-selling female author in Shanghai Beach.

However, it was in this year that she suddenly disappeared from the public eye.

A month after she disappeared, everyone was surprised to find that she had actually become a guest of the family of Li Shiqun, the false leader of Wang.

Her friends did not understand how a female writer who wrote "Do not be a national immortal" turned into a big traitor as soon as she turned into a big traitor.

Since then, her friends have looked at her with disdain, her readers have stopped pursuing her poetry collections, and her literary friends have left her.

One day, she accompanied Ye Jiqing, the wife of Wang's pseudo-head, to visit the hand jewelry shop and buy hand jewelry. Go to the fur shop and buy a fur coat. Out of the store door. She inadvertently turned around and saw her friend Lan Lan. Lan Lan was once her best girlfriend, and the two were as close as sisters. However, when Lan Lan saw the picture of her and Ye Jiqing together, Lan Lan not only glanced at her, but also scorned her "flattering face".

Her writer friends also cut off contact with her, and even the writers did not invite her to any activities, and they regarded her as a spurned traitor and literati.

During the day, she accompanied his wife to play mahjong at Li Shiqun's house, watching them sing and dance together, drunk and dreaming of death. But when she returned home at night, she was so aggrieved that she secretly cried.

On the right is Li Shiqun

What really happened that month? How could a passionate patriotic young man degenerate into a traitorous literati? Since then, she has been reduced from a patriotic female writer to a traitorous literati who everyone shouts and beats.

02

It was a late autumn day in 1939, and the coolness could already be felt at night. Guan Lu is revising her novel "Old and New Times". Suddenly, there was a knock at the door, and the person who came was a man named Liu Shaowen, who brought Guan Lu a secret telegram from Ye Jianying of the Southern Bureau.

The main content of the secret telegram is: let Guan Lu go to Hong Kong and find Liao Chengzhi, who is engaged in cultural rescue work in Hong Kong, to accept the task.

Kwan Lok, who had been tasked, soon arrived in Hong Kong. The day after arriving in Hong Kong, Liao Chengzhi and Pan Hannian arrived at Guan Lu's hotel together.

Their new task for Guan Lu was not to arrange for Guan Lu to work in Hong Kong, but to return to Shanghai and infiltrate the secret service headquarters of Li Shiqun, the pseudo-leader of Wang, at 76 Jisifei Road, or "76 for short."

Number 76

At this time, Shanghai, under the ravages of the iron hooves of the Japanese army, on the surface singing and dancing, was actually secretly gushing with the deadly struggle between the enemy and us.

Guan Lu's task is very difficult, and she needs to lurk around Li Shiqun to win him over and collect intelligence for our party. Li Shiqun was once an underground worker of our party, but after being arrested by the Kuomintang, she defected to the enemy and joined its underground organization. During the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, he again defected to the Japanese. At this time, he was in charge of the Wang puppet organization set up by the Japanese in Shanghai, which shows that his position in the Wang puppet is very important.

In April 1939, Pan Hannian also focused on the problem of Li Shiqun, and he believed that the best way was to establish contact with Li Shiqun, win him over, and obtain intelligence from other places.

Originally, our party was going to send Hu Xiufeng, because she was a relatively mature underground worker. The most important thing is that she has a special affection for Li Shiqun's wife, Ye Jiqing.

That year, after Li Shiqun was arrested, Ye Jiqing was pregnant and had an extremely difficult life. Hu Xiufeng, out of sympathy for the revolutionary comrades, helped take care of Ye Jiqing through the difficulties of that time. Out of gratitude to Ye Jiqing, Ye Jiqing and Hu Xiufeng are called sisters.

However, at this time, Hu Xiufeng was performing another important task, so Hu Xiufeng recommended his sister to Pan Hannian. And her sister is Guan Lu, because Guan Lu also knows Li Shiqun. And Li Shiqun also invited Guan Lu to be her English secretary several times. At that time, Guan Lu superficially declined Li Shiqun's invitation, but in fact he was very disgusted by Li Shiqun's traitorous behavior.

But at this time, on what grounds did he find the door himself? Guan Lu, who received the task, consulted with Pan Hannian and Liao Chengzhi: on the grounds that he was unemployed and looking for a job.

Before leaving, Pan Hannian repeatedly instructed Guan Lu: If someone calls you a traitor, you must not defend yourself.

Guan Lu said firmly: I do not defend myself.

So Guan Lu came to Shanghai again from Hong Kong, and she took the initiative to contact Li Shiqun. Can she successfully lurk around Li Shiqun?

03

When Li Shiqun heard that Guan Lu asked him to find a job, he was also surprised for a while. He did not immediately agree to arrange a job for Guan Lu, but instead used a small black car to take Guan Lu to No. 76 on JiSfell Road.

"No. 76" is a place that makes the whole of Shanghai, including the central and military commanders, daunted. Li Shiqun personally came to greet Guan Lu.

Guan Lu: By a patriotic youth, degenerated into a traitor, unmarried all his life, and accompanied by plastic dolls in his later years

He took her into No. 76 and toured her up and down. When I first entered "No. 76", Guan Lu immediately felt the atmosphere from this garden house on the outside, but the atmosphere inside was unusually gloomy. The staff inside were uniformed, heavily armed and murderous. Every time I walked through a room, there was a mournful wail inside. Guan Lu looked through a small window and saw a room without a bed, and on the grass mat on the floor lay three or four women who had just finished their torture. Guan Lu couldn't help but ask, "Who are they?" ”

Li Shiqun said: "They are all members of the military command. ”

Then Li Shiqun approached Guan Lu again: "I have never been arrested by a communist party." ”

Li Shiqun observed Guan Lu's reaction as he spoke, and although Guan Lu felt all kinds of discomfort in his heart, he calmly did not react at all. After many trials, Li Shiqun let down his guard. However, he did not assign any work to Guan Lu at "No. 76".

However, Guan Lu was often able to come and go to Li Shiqun's home, and Li Shiqun often invited her to visit her home. Because Guan Lu is an influential writer, her visit also played a role in creating momentum for Li Shiqun. In the eyes of outsiders: the great writers have become the guests of Li Shiqun's home.

Guan Lu either watched the wives of the officials and the officials eat, drink, and have fun, and drunkenly dreamed of death, or accompanied Li Shiqun's wife to play mahjong, shopping, buying jewelry, and buying fur coats.

Although she successfully lurked by Li Shiqun's side and reported his ideological dynamics to the organization in time, she also provided a lot of favorable information for the war behind enemy lines. However, the news that she was a famous writer who often went to Li Shiqun's house did not go away, and she was named a "traitorous literati". Whenever the night was quiet, she was secretly sad. But as an underground worker, even if she secretly collapsed at night, she would still wear armor during the day.

Li Shiqun's wife, Ye Jiqing

In the end, she finally won over Li Shiqun, and during the two years that she lurked with Li Shiqun, she provided a steady stream of intelligence for our party. The reason why Li Shiqun is willing to cooperate is because from the trajectory of his behavior, it can be seen that he is an opportunist who seeks self-protection at a critical moment, he has betrayed our party, and then defected to the Kuomintang M Party, the Japanese army, destined that he will not fight for any side, only to save himself. Under guan lu's operation, he also provided our party with a lot of important information. From strategic shifts to breaking through the blockade line, he played a top priority role.

One day two years later, Guan Lu received a new task, what kind of task is this? Will she be able to complete it?

04

The superior arranged for Guan Lu to break into the magazine "Female Voice". "Female Voice" magazine is a daily magazine, and the editor-in-chief of the magazine is the famous Japanese writer Toshiko Sato. Because Toshiko Sato Chinese level is not good, she wants to feature a Chinese editor. With her status as a writer and a good level of foreign language, she successfully applied for the "Female Voice" magazine.

The main purpose of my party's entry into the magazine is to contact some friends of the Japanese left or to learn about the developments in Japan.

Guan Lu did not change her pen name when she entered the magazine, and she hoped to use her original popularity to attract everyone's attention and let the people see more advanced ideological content.

Later, Toshiko Sato informed Kanro to represent The Voice of a Woman magazine in the Third Great East Asian Literary Conference in Tokyo. Guan Lu decided to participate, just so that she could take this opportunity to truly understand the ideological dynamics of the Japanese people and get in touch with Japanese left-wing writers. However, the personnel of this society must be published in the newspaper with photos attached. It is precisely because of this that Guan Lu has confirmed the reputation of the traitorous literati.

In Japan, she was overly stressed and had a nervous breakdown, and she wrote a "Tokyo Memoirs: Days of Neuropathy", which includes a record of this period. Nevertheless, she also successfully completed the task.

After returning to Shanghai, she wrote down all the materials she had seen in Tokyo and gave them to the organization. The first material is called "Diary of International Students", which is written about the social dynamics of Japan; the second is called "Representatives of Funny Characters", which shows the various ugly situations in the venue during the Great East Asian Literary Congress; and the third material is called "The Sound of Autumn Rain", which describes the painful life of the Japanese people during the Japanese invasion of China.

After returning from Japan, she bought a copy of the Current Affairs Newspaper, and after reading it, she was disheartened. The most conspicuous position in this newspaper is full of criticism of her: saying that she sentenced two people before and after, scolding her for being willing to degenerate, selling her soul, and being a traitorous literati.

This trip to Japan confirmed her identity as a traitor. From a famous talented woman in Shanghai to a rapist who was scolded, she had no way to defend herself.

During this period, she was fortunately encouraged by letters from her distant lover Wang Bingnan. She also wrote a book of poems called "Songs in the Pacific" for Wang Bingnan.

However, later Wang Bingnan suddenly proposed to break up with her, because Guan Lu's identity as a traitor was not conducive to the development of his work. Although he knew that Guan Lu was not a traitor. But his work in our party is also important, and in order to work, he had to choose to forget about Guan Lu.

When Guan Lu and Wang Bingnan fell in love, Wang Bingnan once gave her a handsome photo with a sentence written on the photo that Guan Lu will never forget: You care about me for a while, I care about you for a lifetime.

After the two broke up, Guan Lu wrote a poem behind this line: A ghost dream is close to whom, and the lover of eternity is alone.

Since then, the two have been strange in the end of the world, and they have gone their separate ways.

Guan Lu, on the other hand, remained unmarried all her life until she was old. But she loved children, and her friends later bought her a plastic doll. She often made clothes for the doll, covered the quilt, and from time to time she would put her arms in her arms and kiss her. This plastic doll accompanied her for the rest of her life.

Guan Lu was scolded for being a traitor, but behind her never defending herself, let us see the power of faith!

Faith is a desire to constantly pursue and explore. Faith is the dream of the blue sea and blue sky. Faith is the responsibility of the homeland.

With this article, I would like to pay tribute to the soldiers who, like Guan Lu, went deep into the Dragon Pond Tiger's Den on the hidden front and silently dedicated themselves to the cause of the mainland revolution!
