During the four years that followed, Ezia lived a life worse than death. When she was spotted, she was skinny and wrapped in a blanket, staying in a peachtree point town apartment 15 miles from her high school. The Atlanta Constitution newspaper reported that Aisia weighed only 59 pounds (about 53.5 pounds) at the time and was "in desperate need of medical observation."
After Calvin's arrest, authorities searched the hotel involved and found Aisia, a five-year-old and two three-year-olds. Calvin had two children with his biological daughter, Naajla, the other two of whom were born to Aisia. Calvin allegedly ordered his daughter Najira to say that if Ezia and the children disobeyed, they would not be given anything to eat.
Investigators said a large number of books and notes related to religious rituals and the Nuwaubian Nation of Moors (aka Nuwaubianism) were also found inside the hotel. The religion was a mixture of black supremacy and worship of the Egyptians and their pyramids. In addition, its strange doctrines are based on UFOs, Illuminati, and the so-called "dark forces" Bilderbergers.

After their arrest, however, both Calvin and Najira pleaded not guilty and remain in prison pending release on bail. Calvin was charged with one felony of murder, one count of premeditated murder, four counts of child abuse of first degree, one count of child abuse of grade II, one count of abuse of an adult with disability, one count of rape, one count of incest and one count of aggravated sodomy;
The three children found at the hotel were later sent to the custody of the Georgia Family and Children's Services.
