The more than 20 film posters on display in Han are selected from more than 70,000 film posters in the collection of the Toulouse Film Archive in France, and the most representative works from the 1930s to the 1990s are selected. Most of them are written by famous artists, including posters for award-winning films at the Cannes, Venice and Berlin International Film Festivals, as well as film posters for famous directors such as Henri-Georges Kluzzo's The Raven (1943), The Gambler Bob (1956) directed by the master of film noir Jean-Pierre Melville, and The City of Alpha (1965) by Jean-Luc Godard, the leader of the French New Wave. Among them, Melville's police films with a strong personal style have deeply influenced generations of Hong Kong directors such as Wu Yusen and Du Qifeng. Jia Zhangke is also a big fan of Melville, and the first tribute unit of the Pingyao International Film Festival, which he founded by him in 2017, was dedicated to Melville. In addition, posters for the niche films "Tristana" starring the French goddess Catherine Devna and classic film posters such as "Love in Hiroshima" appear in the exhibition.

Curator of this poster exhibition, cultural commissioner of the French Consulate General in Wuhan, Saidiwen introduced that because most of the early poster designers were from printing factories, some also designed and painted for big-name clothing, such as Raymond Brno, who is known as the "father of the French poster girl", who once painted for Dior, Saint Laurent and other fashions, and its artistic value has been obscured by the light of the film, and has been forgotten in the long river of history for a long time. With the progress of a century of film history, these poster works not only put the finishing touches on the film's storyline, character relationships and film style, but also gradually become a graphic artwork independent of the film with exquisite pictures, unique expression techniques and rich cultural connotations.

It is reported that the exhibition will last until October 7, and visitors can go to the exhibition for free.
