China Reading News: What is the difference between reading and learning? Yi Zhongtian: Learning is a survival need, and reading is a way of life. Going to sleep, there is still a textbook next to the pillow? That's a little too hard. The real pillow book must not be for learning, but it does not mean that it is useless. China Reading News: Let's say? Yi Zhongtian: Detective novel. A good detective, one by intuition, two by logic; three pieces of evidence. This is exactly what historical research needs. There are too many mysteries and unreliable records in history, and I wrote "History of China" to see myself as a detective. Moreover, I have intuition.
Detective fiction is very helpful for my writing

For example, history says that in order to overthrow Wang Anshi, Lü Huiqing handed over a private letter from Wang Anshi to him, which contained the words "Do not let the superior know." This statement existed in the Song Dynasty. If true, Lu Huiqing is definitely a villain. But my intuition told me it wasn't right. Why? Because from Lü Huiqing's delivery of the letter to Wang Anshi's resignation, there was a time difference of four and a half months. How can the crime of deception be handled with such procrastination? In fact, there were people who doubted this at the time. who? Lu You's grandfather, Lu You. Lu Tuo once asked the empress dowager to order the relevant documents collected by the court to be sent down to see if there was the words "Do not let the superior know" in the letter from Wang Anshi that Lu Huiqing had handed over that year. The result is no. Now it's time for logical reasoning. Where did the letter go? Logically, there are three possibilities. One is accidentally lost. But is such important evidence possible to be lost? The second is deliberate destruction. Only the empress dowager could be destroyed, but unfortunately she did not like either Wang Anshi nor Lu Huiqing, so how could she destroy important evidence? Third, there is no such letter at all. So there is only one conclusion: Wang Anshi has never written such a letter, and Lu Huiqing has not betrayed him. This is an unjust case. China Reading Daily: Can intuition be cultivated? Yi Zhongtian: No. Intuition is talent. China Reading Daily: What is the detective novel you read the most? Yi Zhongtian: Early sherlock Holmes. Later, when I went to graduate school, I "cracked" all the cases in the library—all the detective novels. At the same time, I would like to warn readers that pillow books are often "harmful". The case can't sleep unbroken, and I can't sleep all night. Later, I liked Agatha more, and basically had her complete collection. I also think that her works are too many, the better ones are "No One Survives", "Bottom Card", "Murder on the Orient Express", "Sin in the Sun", "Death Grass". Then there's Keigo Higashino, whose best work I think is White Night. I also like the Kaga Kyoichiro series, one of which is "I Killed Him" that I have not yet read, and the question of who is the murderer is hotly discussed in terms of knowledge. Most recently read Ender's Game. The movie was made great, and after watching the movie, I bought a book. Watching Harry Potter was about ten years ago, and when I looked at it, I found that its heat made sense. The journalists in Harry Potter are exactly the same as the journalists I worked with back in the day. So is cologne. I originally rejected the new martial arts novel, and my daughter bought Gu Long's "Seven Weapons", and I also read it at a glance. China Reading Daily: Can you write detective novels? Yi Zhongtian: No. The technical requirements of detective novels are very high, and to know a lot of professional knowledge, I only know potassium cyanide. I'm a "person by appearance" person
China Reading News: "Look at it and look into it", what attracts you? What determines you want to look at it? Yi Zhongtian: The first sentence. I particularly liked Deaver's Garden of the Beast, which was great and appealing at first: as soon as he walked into this gloomy apartment, he knew he was going to die. Haha, I'm a "person by appearance". China Reading Daily: Judging people by their appearance? Yi Zhongtian: Absolutely. Pillow books are like pillow people, you always have to look good, don't you? Your first sentence can't catch me, I won't read it. The same goes for my own book, where I am extremely strict with the first sentence. The first sentence of the "Three Kingdoms Chronicle" is: Luoyang after the death of the Han Ling Emperor was full of murderous qi. One sentence will lead the reader into that chaotic year. Now is the era of fast-paced, fragmented era, the first sentence can not catch people, dead. China Reading Daily: So is your "first sentence" easy? Yi Zhongtian: Rely on inspiration. Sometimes in order to find the first sentence, it is impossible to write it down for a few days. The first sentence can not find no feeling, the back is not right, will be awkward. Sometimes it's already written, and it's going to be torn down and started. The head is open, and the back is very smooth. China Reading Daily: You are too strict with yourself. Yi Zhongtian: If you are not happy with yourself, how can the reader be cool? The reader feels awkward, how can he read it? My advice to the reader is not to look in and not to look. Where are the must-reads? Textbooks only. Is it possible to be free outside of textbooks? I can only say what I like to read, I can't say that "White Night" is a must-read, and Chen Shou's "Romance of the Three Kingdoms" is a must-read. Doesn't make sense!
I still advocate reading the classics, but don't force it
Zhonghua Shushu Bao: So you don't recommend opening a book list? Yi Zhongtian: Reading is of an age. Reading is different for different ages. When I was in elementary school, I read "Water Margin", "Journey to the West" and "Romance of the Three Kingdoms", and I jumped over places I couldn't understand such as "there are poems as evidence". I have a friend who told the story of "Water Margin" to children when he was a child, and he always said "shake" and what Song Jiang was doing. Later, I learned that his "shaking" was Chao Gai. But what about "shaking"? Moreover, people and books are related. When I read Lu Xun, I first encountered "Collection of Collected Pieces" in a used bookstore, and I read it when I saw it. I also copied many books, and Marx's Manuscript of economic philosophy of 1844 was copied from the library in volume 42 of the Complete Works of Marx and Engels. Copying books is better than reading only. China Reading News: Do you have any suggestions for reading? Yi Zhongtian: The ancients took the law from above, and only got the middle, so I still advocate reading the classics, but don't force it. I'm advocating letting go of children reading, reading what they want to read. Of course, there is a bottom line, and adultery and theft cannot be read. Reading changes as you grow. When I was a child, I loved "Romance of the Three Kingdoms" and now I hate it; when I was a child, I was not interested in "Dream of the Red Chamber" and now think that it is the best of classical Chinese novels.
Moms have a greater impact on their children
China Reading News: Do you have any suggestions for making children love to read? Yi Zhongtian: It's very simple, you love to read, and your children love to read. You rub mahjong all day, how do you ask your child to love reading? If the financial conditions permit, I recommend making a bookshelf for my child, buying the books I once liked and putting them on the shelves, and telling my children that this is the book that my parents read when they were young. Let the child decide for himself whether to look or not. He or she will read it. China Reading Daily: Is this how you educate your daughter? Yi Zhongtian: That's my wife's credit. My daughter can read at the age of 4, which is taught by her mother. My wife was going to work and the kids were still sleeping. She cut a cucumber for her daughter and left a note: Babe eats cucumber. The daughter woke up and read the note, and after eating, she also wrote a note to reply: Mom, I ate. My daughter painted, played the piano, and published poetry at the age of 9, all of which were cultivated by my wife. Moms have a greater impact on their children. Yi Zhongtian: I just watched Wu Ye's "Evil Angel" and Sun Wei's "Single too long will be killed". The suspense and reversals are good, which is important.
