Speaking of the film set by the "time loop", I think my friends have seen a lot.
Recently, there are "Unexpected Space", "Happy Death Day" and "One Day",

"Happy Death Day"
Far away are "Twelve o'clock and one o'clock" and "The Day of the Groundhog",
Groundhog Day
Of course, there are classics such as "Horror Cruise", "Lola Run", "Edge of Tomorrow" and so on.
Horror Cruises
Today, I dug up an unpopular time loop movie for everyone - "Escape from the Loop".
At the beginning of the film, people are unaware of it-
A beggar is begging in the subway, and the male protagonist Adam reaches out and breaks a piece of bread to give to the beggar, at this time the camera gives Adam's right hand, revealing a symbol representing infinity, "∞".
It seems that Adam is a good man with a good heart. But in reality, he was a drug dealer.
He and his girlfriend Anna are planning to complete the last mission - hack the boss's cargo, and then go away.
But before leaving, Anna suddenly told him that she was pregnant.
Adam does not want to be disrupted by the sudden child and asks Anna to beat the child.
Anna didn't want to do that, and she didn't want to run away with him at this time.
Seeing that his girlfriend was so stubborn, Adam immediately decided to leave her and run away alone.
But then he found that Anna, who said she was going to the hospital for a check-up, had taken the ticket when he escaped.
Adam was in a hurry and rushed out to find Anna, who happened to bump into her on the street.
Who knows, Anna's first words after seeing him turned out to be - how come you are still alive?!
What is even stranger is that at this time, Anna's face is full of scars and she is still holding a videotape in her hand.
She also told Adam that she had seen her boss shoot him, and the evidence was in the videotape.
But Adam didn't have time to think about what had happened to Anna, and his mind was on his ticket.
In the middle of the argument, Anna is suddenly hit by a speeding car!
Adam panicked for a moment, and in order to clear his responsibility, he chose to flee in a hurry.
The plot develops here, and we can see that the male protagonist is a selfish and cowardly scumbag.
But soon, the scumbag encountered the "Present World Newspaper".
When Adam fled the scene in a hurry and returned home, he opened the videotape and saw a strange scene.
The video was like a mirror image, capturing everything he had just experienced. And after a few fast-forwards, he even saw a clip of himself being shot by his boss!
Adam was momentarily confused, could this be a videotape that could predict the future?
But before he could react, the doorbell rang—Anna, who was already dead, appeared at the door, followed by his boss.
The next episode is just like the one played in the video — Adam is shot by his boss and his body is thrown into the bathtub.
Wait, is it true that the male protagonist has received a box lunch?
Don't worry, the perspective of the film changes at this time - Anna, who has escaped from the scene in a hurry, bumps into Adam on the street.
So this time it was Anna's turn to be surprised: how come you're still alive?!
See here the friends understand, right? This is the plot that Adam has just experienced.
However, the film does not tell this plot from the perspective of the two people, but they are caught in a kind of cycle.
Let's call the dead Adam Adam Adam A; the Adam who appears here is called Adam B.
In an argument with Adam B, Anna was again hit by a speeding car.
Only then did we find out that the driver who caused the accident was Adam's boss.
While driving to hunt anna, he suddenly saw Adam B on the side of the road, thinking that he had hit a ghost in the daytime, and he was suspicious that he had hit Anna.
However, this Adam B did not walk away like Adam A, but rushed over to check on Anna's situation.
That's right, with Anna's death, the film's main perspective shifts again— to Adam B.
And this time, because Adam B stayed at the scene after the crash, he found out that the driver was the boss.
So, instead of going home immediately, he went after him to take revenge and killed his boss.
But even so, the cycle has not been broken.
Subsequently, Adam B not only witnessed Anna's death again and again, but even met Adam C, Adam D...
So what exactly can be done to escape the cycle?
To answer this question, we have to go back to the beginning - because the core of this film is the symbol "∞" in the hands of the male protagonist.
Before the cycle began, the male protagonist had explained that this infinity mark was his amulet to bless him with a chance to never come back.
Who would have thought that the male protagonist would be trapped in the loop and keep coming back........
The Flag that stands on its own, kneeling, must also be completed
However, in this process, the male protagonist gradually grew from selfish and cowardly at the beginning to a responsible man.
When two Adams collide head-on and Adam D asks who he really is, Adam B also replies, I am your better self.
The reason why the male protagonist has changed like this is because he found that no matter how many times the cycle is, Anna has always been inseparable from him.
He was touched by this love, but also guilty of his previous selfishness that led to Anna's death.
It is for this reason that Adam B keeps making the right choices and lives to the end of the film.
It is worth mentioning that in films with the same theme, it is generally explained why the protagonist is trapped in the time loop.
One of the most common reasons is to save people.
For example, in "Horror Cruise", the heroine is to save her son who died in a car accident;
In "One Day", the male protagonist is to save his daughter who died in a car accident;
In "Happy Death Day", the heroine is to save herself who was inexplicably killed.
In "Escape from the Loop", it has never been explicitly stated that the reason why the male protagonist is caught in the loop may be classified as "becoming a better self", similar to the pioneering work of this genre "Groundhog Day".
But even so, Escape from the Loop is unique.
A very important point is that its main perspective is constantly changing on each character, and the attention is slightly inattentive, and it is impossible to distinguish the male protagonist in front of you.
Compared with the similar setting of "Horror Cruise", although there are also multiple heroines in the process of the cycle, the main perspective of the film has always followed the original heroine, so as the audience, we will not confuse the difference between the heroines of the various versions.
At the end of Escape from the Loop, Adam B and Anna, who have successfully escaped the loop, take the subway.
Remember the beggar at the beginning of the film?
At the end he reappears—eating half a loaf of bread from begging.
Everything seems to be exactly the same as the opening of the film. Could it be that the male protagonist has once again begun the cycle?
The film fails to give a clear answer, and everything is left to the audience to interpret.
And the more we make up our minds, the more we will find that there is an important character in the film that has been ignored, that is, Anna who has been knocked off again and again.
When the male protagonist is still in a relatively selfish stage, Anna and we can all find that he really does not love her enough.
Adam C, who has already been shot by his boss, even told Adam B before he died, that it was Anna who caused the trouble and left her!
But why would Adam C hack a girlfriend who loves him wholeheartedly?
This is most likely because, in the course of the loop, Adam C discovered that the loop itself was caused by Anna.
If we think of the plot of Escape from the Loop as a loop that closes at the end and returns to the beginning of the film, then at the end of the film, it is Anna who draws a "∞" on the back of Adam's hand with a pen.
Adam asked about the meaning, and Anna replied that it meant to be together forever.
Adam inadvertently erases the symbol from his hand at the beginning of the film, meaning that the time loop begins.
Thinking about it like this, I am afraid to think about it.
Perhaps, anna found that Adam did not love her enough, so she started the time loop, sifting out the Adam who loved her the most and staying with her.
So, in front of the boss to betray her Adam A, dog belt;
Before dying, adam C. still blackened her, the dog belt;
From beginning to end, adam D. was thinking about escaping alone, dog belt.
Later, Adam B, who almost gave up the escape cycle and only cared to save Anna, survived smoothly.
If he later changes his mind and erases the "∞" that means eternity, perhaps he will once again enter the cycle.
Of course, this is only an interpretation of the plot of this film.
Overall, the suspenseful atmosphere of the film is full of suspense, and the plot is enough to burn the brain. Although it is not as popular as "Horror Cruise", it is also a good movie worth watching.
Moreover, in addition to the high-energy plot, the growth experienced by the male protagonist in the cycle is also worth pondering - no one is born perfect, everyone is stumbling, and gradually becomes a better self.
If you feel like you're at a low point and things are not going well, maybe that's a reminder to make a change. When you take that positive step, you will find that the life in front of you has been very different.
