Former doctor Roger Abidmasi, 73, returned to the prison in the city of TREMEMBE on Thursday night, where he had previously been treated at the prison hospital and admitted from the 18th.
Prior to this, he was granted the right to serve his sentence at home, but was pressed back to prison by the police from the mansion in the district of ALTO DE PINHEIROS.
Abid masi was convicted of 48 rapes, 47 women victimized and sentenced to 181 years in prison. However, in the last two months, the court has modified the way in which he served his sentence five times because of the family sentence he applied for.
The court first granted his family sentence on July 4. At the time, his lawyer said he was in poor health and that TREMEMBE prison did not have adequate medical conditions. Later, the former doctor was hospitalized at the ALBERT EINSTEIN Hospital hospital for urinary tract infections. Court 11 ordered him back to prison over state government inmate ankle problems. On the 13th, another judge ordered approval of his family's sentence. His lawyer, who filed an application for habeas corpus, will also be heard by the courts, said an appeal had been filed.
After being sentenced for 48 rapes, the former doctor fled for three years and became the chief wanted man of the São Paulo State Public Security Department. He was discovered in 2014 in the city of ASSUNCAO, Paraguay, and subsequently deported, where he has been held in TREMEMBE prison in the interior of the state of São Paulo. The prison also houses other nationally renowned prisoners, such as ALEXANDRE NARDONI (suspected of killing her own daughter) and SUZANE VON RICHTHOFEN (suspected of killing her biological parents).
During his sentence, the former doctor was hospitalized several times, including the placement of a stent in the heart, before being taken to the hospital again for another lack of breathing, another because of pneumonia.
