Approaching Watford, Hodgson will be the 23rd team in his 45-year coaching career

74-year-old England coach Hodgson has been coaching for 45 years since he began his coaching career in July 1976. According to Germany's Transfer Market, as Hodgson approaches coaching Watford, he is on the verge of his 23rd team.

Hodgson began coaching sweden's Hamstad BK in July 1976, thus beginning his coaching career. In a 45-year coaching career, he has coached four national teams in Sweden, the United Arab Emirates, Finland and England, and in 2013 briefly served as the interim manager of the England U21 national youth team.

At club level, Hodgson twice coached Inter Milan (between 1995 and 1997 and later in the 1998–99 season) and was Liverpool manager for the first half of the 2010–11 season. In addition, he has coached five major league teams such as Udinese, Blackburn, Fulham, West Bromwich Albion and Crystal Palace, as well as teams in the Swedish Super League, Swiss Super League and Danish Super League. In addition, in 2017, he served as a consultant for melbourne City Club in the Australian Premier League.

Hodgson has been idle since leaving Crystal Palace last June, after he coached each team for an average of 1.93 years.
