On March 25, the reporter learned from the Diqing Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture Fire Rescue Detachment that at 21:20 on March 24, the detachment received an alarm claiming that 2 cars and 6 people on the Degong Highway (318 Provincial Highway) to the Peacock Mountain Pass were trapped in the snow, and their lives and safety were seriously threatened.
The Deqin County Fire Rescue Brigade quickly dispatched 1 vehicle and 6 people to dispose of it. During the journey, due to rain and snow weather, coupled with some of the road surfaces with falling rocks, it is difficult to travel. In order to quickly reach the rescue scene, the commanders and fighters took effective measures, and at 23:40 the rescue force arrived at the scene, and the commander reconnoitred the surrounding area of the trapped vehicle at the first time, and determined the rescue plan in time according to the situation at the scene. A rescue group uses mats to secure trapped vehicles to prevent slippage. Rescue Group II used shovels, hoes, etc. to remove the snow around the trapped vehicles, and used tow ropes to push the trapped vehicles to safety. The three rescue groups immediately sent food and water to replenish energy to the trapped people, and sent coats to the trapped people to warm up and calm their emotions.
At 1:08 a.m. on March 25, with the joint efforts of all rescue workers, the trapped vehicles and personnel successfully reached the safe road.
