According to reporters, the Milwaukee Brewers recently hired former Philadelphia Phillies general manager Matt Clentarch as the team's special assistant. Since Clentak was sacked in October 2020, he has been a strategic development officer at the Phillies management, with his contract with 1 year to expire.
Clentak has been in baseball for nearly 20 years, working in the Colorado Rockies, Baltimore Orioles, the League's Labor Relations Department, and then for four years as assistant general manager at the Los Angeles Angels. In 2015 he was hired by the Philadelphia natives as the team's new general manager.
The Phillies were in the midst of a rebuilding period, and in the five years since Clentarch took over, the team has never won more than half.
