Because there was a bit of a movie famine recently, I asked my friend Amway to make a movie, and she showed me "The Melting Pot".
I've heard of this movie before, but I've never seen it, so I went to make up for it.
After reading it, I decided not to write about the originally planned theme, but just wanted to write a good film review.
The beginning of the film creates a depressing, melancholy atmosphere. This creates an atmosphere for the tragedy of the entire film to get into a state quickly.

The male protagonist is Jiang Renhao, an art teacher who knows dumb language, and when he was driving to his new place of work, Kiritsu City, he bumped into a deer. On another track, a young boy was also killed by a train. The male protagonist looked at the foggy city, dazed.
While repairing the car, he met the heroine Xu Youzhen, who is a member of a kind and upright human rights organization. Just arrived at this deaf and dumb school called the Loving Love Academy, Jiang Renhao took the initiative to greet the children, but the children avoided it.
Jin Yeon-doo, who has a talent for painting, Chen Youli, who loves snacks, and The National Show, who always has bruises on his face, and three children with distinct personalities, all ignore Renhao's enthusiasm. While trying to open his heart to the children, Ren Hao discovers the unknown darkness of the Loving-Kindness Academy.
When he accidentally left work, Ren Hao heard the cries of children near the corridor, and followed the sound to the door of the women's toilet and knocked on the door, but was stopped by the patrolling security guards.
Ren Hao witnessed Jiang Criminal Police counting envelopes of money while responding to the principal saying that it was right to help discipline the ignorant students who ran out in the middle of the night and were tired.
Teacher Park Baoxian, who claimed to have been with his children for more than ten years, actually beat Up Min-soo in the staff office. The other teachers in the office seemed to be indifferent and indifferent. Only In-ho saw the situation and immediately stopped Park Baoxian.
Rescued by Ren Hao from the balcony and beginning to trust Ren Hao's Yu Li, he pulls Ren Hao's cuffs to take him to a basement where he is learning to teach, but unexpectedly sees a woman pressing Yeon Doo's head into the rotating washing machine, and threatens Ren Hao that he is only educating children as a dormitory instructor, telling Ren Hao not to be nosy.
The scarred Yeon-doo, who was taken to the hospital by Ren-ho, tells the appalling truth to Ren-ho and Tomojin and the others in sign language: in the seemingly ordinary Love Academy, she is not the only child who has been sexually assaulted, and the perpetrator is not only the principal. Yeon-doo and Yu-li have been brutally killed, even Min-soo and his brother.
Ironically, the headmaster of such a beast went so far as to say that his favorite plant was orchid, a symbol of purity.
When Yujin brings a video of Yeon-doo's sign language describing the sexual assault process to the Department of Education, the Department of Education and the City Hall are kicking each other.
It wasn't until In-ho asked Min-so's insulted sign language interview to be broadcast live in a public place that it was taken seriously by the South Korean people, and the principal and the head of the administrative office were pulled into the police car. I thought the tragedy would finally come to an end.
However, the principal's extensive connections and huge financial resources, the compromise of the parents of the weak and incompetent children, and the bribery of the police and prosecutors who handled the case made it impossible for the culprits to get real punishment. When Min-soo hears In-ho say that Min-soo's grandmother has chosen to forgive Park Baoxian, Min-soo can't help but cry: "He killed my brother, and I didn't choose to forgive him, so why can he be forgiven?" ”
That was the one who indirectly killed his brother and insulted him!
At the moment when the final trial announced that the defendant had only been sentenced to Liao Liao for a few months or suspended, the adulterer was overjoyed, the children lost their voices and wept bitterly, and Ren Hao was stunned to watch the scene of chaos, questioning the existence of justice.
Is this movie brutal? But this stems from a real incident in South Korea. This film, which is so tragic, is based on real events.
A lawyer learned about the incident from a friend who was a teacher at a deaf-mute school in Gwangju, and the two were trying to gather information about it, but the teacher was strangled by the excessive power of the other side, and some legal workers related to the matter were killed. In the movie, Ren Hao only loses his job when he seeks power for the children, but in reality, the warrior who sacrifices his life for justice has lost his life. After suffering from cancer, he took three children who were sexually assaulted by the school authorities and persisted in the lawsuit for seven years.
Later, he met a like-minded doctor, and the two had a hard time gathering favorable evidence, but they were suppressed by various unspoken rules. One of the little boys, unable to accept this result, commits suicide by dragging one of the perpetrators, and the ending of Minxiu in the movie comes from this.
The two were devastated and still never gave up the protest.
In the end, the lawyer who is terminally ill is knocked down on the cement floor by a high-pressure water gun, and in the movie, Ren Hao can get up again, but the lawyer never stands up again. After writing down the entire reason for the incident, the doctor regretted suicide. Due to the spread of the Internet, a Korean female writer wrote a novel about the incident, which attracted the attention of society.
In the movie, it is only mentioned that three people sexually assaulted children, but in the real incident, there were more than a dozen people from the principal to the teacher, and more than thirty children were involved in violence; in the movie, Youzhen, who always defended justice, adopted Yan Dou and Yu Li, but the other two children in the real incident were forcibly taken away by the child welfare agency with tough means.
As the teacher who exposed the sexual assault case said, "The movie melting pot only plays out one-tenth of the truth." ”
Coincidentally, there are dozens of children in Argentina who endure the torment of the devil.
In the Argentine city of Luhande cuyo, there is an all-boarding school for deaf children called the Provolo Institute.
The city of Cuyo is remote, the government hired a priest named Nicola Corradi sent from the Italian headquarters, just arrived at the school, he is highly qualified to complete the school work, and several other priests quickly established relations, so that the teachers feel that he is very reliable. In the name of renovating the school, he formulated some school rules, including "parents are forbidden to enter the school to visit their children without permission", and explained that this is to make children more efficient and focused on learning.
The longer Father Corradi stayed at school, the more the children realized that something was wrong with him.
Father Corradi often asked Sister Kosaka Kumiko to take a few children to the chapel to confess alone, half a day; he would take one or two of them to the bathroom to wash when the children lined up to take a bath; late at night he would find a few "disobedient in the daytime" children to come out alone to talk and come back late... The children, whom had been found by the priest, returned with the same look every time — fear, confusion and nervousness.
It wasn't until one day, while confessing to a child alone, that a group of curious boys peeked through the crack in the church door that they saw the priest's evil face, and those sacred reasons were just an excuse for him to violate the children.
Sister Kumiko, who likes to punish students, also helps Father Corradi to commit crimes, but she is not for the priest, but only to satisfy her perverted psychology of watching people suffer. Every time the priest finished, she would clean up the marks on the children's bodies and threaten the children with vicious words that they would not be allowed to speak out...
Do you think that only Father Corradi and Nun Kumuko are the ones who have sinned? Wrong, there are four other priests. Instead of exposing Father Corradi's crimes, the four priests went with him on the path of sexually abusing children, and the entire school became an island of purgatory where no one cared.
From 2008 to 2014, at least 24 deaf children with an average age of about 11 at the school were sexually assaulted, and some media reported that the actual number reached 60. Children who are extremely frightened and embarrassed after being hurt, and who have lost trust in adults, did not choose to tell the truth until 2016.
In fact, this is not the first time Father Corradi has sinned. As early as 2009, he was one of the main perpetrators of a child sexual assault case at the School for the Deaf and Deaf in Verona, Italy. But for various reasons, the Pope gave him only the lightest punishment: "Lifelong repentance, no longer approaching children." So he was able to continue to extend his grip on the helpless children.
Fortunately, justice, though late, was not absent.
Since the release of the movie "The Melting Pot" in September 2011, the film has become a sensation in South Korea, with millions of Koreans signing online to request a re-investigation of the case, so that the relevant faculty and staff involved in the case are subject to corresponding prosecution and internal investigation. Moreover, it has prompted the South Korean Parliament to pass the "Partial Amendment Bill of the Special Law on the Punishment of Sexual Violence Crimes" (also known as the "Melting Pot Law"), which abolishes the statute of limitations for crimes of sexual violence against children and increases the sentencing. It stipulates that the maximum sentence for sexually assaulting a disabled woman and a child under the age of 13 may be sentenced to life imprisonment.
In the Argentine case, the criminals were arrested one after another because of the overwhelming evidence and the irreputable evidence. Under Argentine law, they face up to 50 years in prison.
In this world, the law of the jungle is an eternal and unchanging law of existence. But preying on the weak is not the same as bullying.
In the face of the pressure of survival, some people will do evil in their hearts, and the twisted minds will bully the weak as a way to vent, to satisfy their little desire to conquer. But the truly strong have never bothered to conquer others in such a despicable and shameless way.
In the above two cases, the victims are children who have no power to tie their hands, or deaf-mute children who cannot hear music and cannot speak of grievances, how can we not feel sad and angry?
At the end of the movie "The Melting Pot", it is said that "we fought all the way, not to change the world, but to prevent the world from changing us" Lawyers, doctors, relevant legal practitioners, female fiction writers, and all the staff who made the film Seem to be thin warriors, who have resisted the pressure of great public opinion, but have not chosen to give up justice. Man and ghost are at the same time. Don't let your child be overshadowed by layer after layer of gloom at an age when they should be loved and pitied.
If it's pitch black in front of our children, we can choose to light up the stars for them.
Maybe at this moment, there are children being abused.
They are still just children, please don't let your child be disappointed in the world as a child.
