Tango originated in Africa and is popular in Argentina, where it first evolved from the tangono in central Africa. In the late 16th and early 17th centuries, black slaves were trafficked to Latin America, so tangonos were introduced to Latin America. In Argentina and Mexico, Mexican-style tango and Argentine-style tango were produced, and now our contemporary tango can represent the two words of tango, in fact, the British royal tango that was introduced to Europe after Argentina. The British Royal Tango contains many elements of Argentine tango, Mexican tango, Italian tango and many other tango dances, which form our current contemporary tango.
