From the perspective of location, Chengdu (Shuangliu) Air-Rail International Intermodal Port is a 20-minute drive from Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport, a 30-minute drive from Tianfu International Airport, a 5-minute drive from the G5 Beijing-Kunming Expressway of the National Expressway Network, and a conversion connection with the Chengdu-Chongqing Line, Baocheng Line, Chengdu-Kunming Line and Sichuan-Tibet Line, which can be quickly integrated into the national railway network system.
For enterprises, this mode of transportation can significantly reduce transportation costs and improve logistics efficiency. Taking Dell as an example, the freight exported to ASEAN previously used cross-border road transport or rail transport to Qinzhou Port to sea transport, the logistics cost per container was about 30,000 yuan, and the time limit for rail-sea intermodal transport was about 5 days. After the opening of the international public railway intermodal transport channel of the air-rail international intermodal port, the logistics cost per container is reduced by about 14.6%, and the logistics timeliness is reduced by about 15%.
"Under cost pressure, the demand for rail transportation from cross-border e-commerce is gradually rising." According to Xia Sisi, deputy general manager of the railway center of Hong Kong China Travel Service Huamao Logistics Co., Ltd., in the past few years, cross-border e-commerce mainly used air transport, and the demand for logistics diversity of cross-border e-commerce in recent years has become more and more intense.
In fact, in the modern industrial system of Shuangliu, the import and export value of the three leading industries of aviation economy, electronic information and biomedicine will exceed 70 billion yuan in 2020. The demand for multimodal transport in these enterprises is equally strong.
