The "Future Science Fiction Master Award" was founded in 2012, formerly known as the "College Fantasy Society Joint Essay", which is one of the earliest original science fiction essay awards in China. It aims to discover and cultivate outstanding original fantasy authors and works, incubate excellent fantasy IP, and organize science fiction exhibitions and carnival activities with the award ceremony as the core to achieve docking with the whole cultural industry. With the continuous expansion of influence, it has become a comprehensive fantasy cultural and creative brand covering new talent training, copyright development, and event organization.
After 7 years of development, the "Future Science Fiction Master Award" has accumulated more than 2,000 submissions, and a number of science fiction writers who are active in the front line of science fiction literature creation, such as Ah Que, Gray Fox, Hu Shaoyan, and Nian Yu, have emerged.
Some of the award-winning works in the previous essay contests are in the process of film and television transformation.

Why is science fiction so popular?
Unlike other fantasy works, science fiction movies or science fiction novels are rooted in science, which can convince the audience that the logic of the fantasy world created by the author is smooth and feasible, and they guide our imagination of the future, and they also lead us to examine ourselves, to examine our connection to society and even to this planet.
Since the birth of science fiction movies, many science fiction masters have created countless classic movie scenes for us, which are not only based on scientific imagination, but also an aesthetic interpretation of the future space.
Space capsule
Flying machines are almost the standard in science fiction movies, after all, no matter which generation of earthlings, there is a dream of flying.
The capsule that appeared in Kubrick's 1968 pioneering work "2001: A Space Odyssey", the white-black-yellow color scheme can transmit strong signals, and with Kubrick's signature symmetrical concentrated composition, this shot is full of flat tension.

In the American drama "Westworld", the human body is 3D printed with fake realities.
"Westworld" is also a story about the "rebellion" of artificial intelligence. There are three different senses of "intelligent life" in the picture below: the real human being wearing a golden dress on the far left, the unconscious AI that is "enslaved" as a tool man in the middle of the picture, and the AI on the far left who is in the dark is self-conscious and awakened, which is almost indistinguishable from the real person. Future architecture
Science fiction and architecture also complement each other, architecture provides the basis for science fiction, and science fiction provides a broader imagination space for the relationship between people and architecture, providing another perspective for us to examine space.
As early as 1927, the science fiction film Metropolis imagined the scene of the future city (above). This imagination was rooted in the social environment of the time: the United States was in the midst of a post-World War I boom, with skyscrapers rising from the metropolis, but the gap between rich and poor and the oppression of workers was further exposed, which led to Metropolis's depiction of a dystopian world: cities would become three-dimensional cities, the working class could only live in dungeons, and the rich would stare at the tall buildings. This film also builds the prototype of the "three-dimensional city" in future science fiction movies.

There are very few man-made objects on this planet that can be as similar to the sense of science fiction in scale, shape and concept as modernist architecture. In the filming of science fiction films, borrowing modernist architectural space is a common technique.
The heroine of Woody Allen's 1973 work, "Fools In Science City," lives in a "spaceship" designed by American architect Charles Deaton.
It is a strangely shaped circular building with a flat shape and a slender base, like an alien flying saucer in the middle of a landing.
The interior of the building is full of tension irregular spiral staircases.
In modern times, with the development of CG technology, the architecture in science fiction works can be more magical than the filming locations in reality. The amusement park's arrival hall and base center (below) in Westworld were filmed at the Pacific Design Center in California, and later CG technology was used to improve the picture, such as extending the height of the escalator's patio infinitely.

Review settings
Essay Awards
1. The essay awards set up three links: preliminary review, review and final review.
2. Preliminary review link: After the submission is completed, the preliminary review panel is composed of ten professional editors and authors, each article will be independently reviewed by at least two judges, and each judge will recommend five excellent works to enter the review link, and the preliminary review shortlist and the preliminary review jury will be announced after the end of the preliminary review.
3. Review session: The review and adjudication committee is composed of three senior fantasy literature editors/scholars. The re-judging judges will conduct a centralized review without interference at the designated place of the organizer, and vote on the shortlisted works, and each judge will have 15 final shortlisted places. Works that are approved by the three judges at the same time will directly enter the final stage. If there are less than 15 finalists, the three judges will discuss until the top 15 works are selected.
4. Final review link: The final review and adjudication committee will evaluate and score the top 15 works, and determine the first, second and third prize works according to the average score.

Campus Rising Star Award
