After Neuer's contract extension, Bayern currently have no plans to find a long-term successor. Bayern executives believe Neuer can maintain a high level for several more years. With Neuer approaching a contract extension, Nubel is unlikely to have a future at Bayern.

Still, Bayern may be thinking about coming off the bench for the goalkeeper. Ulreich's contract expires this summer and there are rumours that Bayern are interested in bringing in Bielefeld goalkeeper Ortega as Neuer's replacement.

Of course, internal solutions are also possible – according to Sport1, Bayern's coaching staff is satisfied with the performance of U19 goalkeeper Johannes Schenck (18 years old), who often trains with bayern first team and receives high reviews within the Bayern Academy.
