According to Sun Ningning, director of the Highway Management Department of the Municipal Transportation Commission, as a key guarantee project for the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, the Beijing section of the Beijing-Lizhou Expressway has been completed and opened to traffic at the end of 2020. In recent years, the transportation department has successively carried out major repairs to the Beijing-Tibet Expressway, National Highway 110 and Songyan Road to improve the road access guarantee capacity. Up to now, all the road facilities related to the Beijing Winter Olympics have been in place to achieve the planning and construction goals of the main passages in the cross-region.

In order to do a good job in ensuring the smooth flow of road traffic in extreme weather, according to the actual traffic needs of the Yanqing Race Area, the transportation department has focused on the special research and deployment of ice and snow removal guarantee work for ordinary highways such as Jingli Expressway and Sixth Ring Road and Songyan Road (Race Time Special Road).

Sun Ningning introduced that during the Winter Olympic Games and the Winter Paralympic Games, the transportation department will take the snow as the order, remove it while going down, and clear it with the bottom to ensure that there is no leakage section, and complete the task of shoveling ice and snow removal in a timely and efficient manner. At present, the transportation department has set up 35 preparation points on key roads around the Winter Olympic Games and the Winter Paralympic Games, with more than 500 reserve personnel and more than 300 sets of ice and snow removal machinery and equipment, ready to be on standby to ensure that the roads are safe and smooth in extreme weather.

Li Zhi, deputy director of the Project Pre-Management Department of the First Launch Group, introduced that the Jingli Expressway is an important guarantee service channel for the 2022 Winter Olympics, connecting the Beijing Urban Arena, yanqing arena and Zhangjiakou arena. At present, Yanchong Expressway has realized the diversified rescue and support methods of "full-time road network monitoring and inspection, all-road network manual inspection, and on-site duty in key periods", and has built a "30-minute emergency circle of Yanchong-Chongqing Expressway".

At the same time, the first group arranged 24-hour clearance force preparation, with the two stations of Dafutuo and Xinjiapu as the core, arranged 6 wreckers and 3 sets of equipment to be on standby to radiate to the entire road to ensure rapid arrival at the scene and efficient handling of emergencies.

During the test match, the Shoushou Group Maintenance Company closed the Hanquan service area twice, set up 3 level prompt boards during the closure period, adjusted the 8 service area signs entering and leaving Beijing, and strengthened the guidance of social vehicles, and the overall guarantee situation was relatively stable. On the basis of the previous facility reserves, the company has added 30 mobile steel guardrails, which can be closed again at any time in case of emergency.

According to reports, this year's snow season is affected by the "La Niña" phenomenon, with the overall low temperature, extreme weather prone to characteristics, coupled with the Yanchong Expressway is located in the northwest mountainous area, the climate is changeable, shoveling ice and snow removal pressure is larger. To this end, Shoufa Group is equipped with 43 sets of snow removal vehicles, water wheels and other equipment on the Yanchong Expressway, which is double that of the same period last year, reaching 1 snow removal equipment per kilometer. Considering that the tunnel water pipe burst last year caused the road surface to freeze, the company introduced an ice melting vehicle and an ice breaker, which can quickly deal with the ice danger.

In addition to civil air defense, technology also plays an important role in shoveling ice and snow removal. In order to solve the communication problem in extremely bad weather, the First Venture Group specially purchased mobile satellite phones. At the same time, the snow icing system is installed to realize the automatic monitoring of temperature and humidity of the bridge deck of the Yanchong Expressway Songshan Bridge and the early warning of icing. In addition, in the West Dazhuangke tunnel mouth, Haituo ramp and other key points to add movable cameras, staff in the mobile phone can obtain real-time information on important points, the first time to remove snow and ice, do a good job of road protection.
