Global Youth Multidimensional Dialogue Held "Agricultural New Youth, Innovation and Entrepreneurship Sharing and Exchange Meeting"

Beijing, January 22 (China News Network) -- On the evening of January 21, the first event of the Global Youth Multidimensional Dialogue in 2022, the "Agricultural New Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Sharing and Exchange Meeting", was held online.

Smart agriculture has become a trend in agricultural development. Guo Lei, an associate researcher at the Information Center of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, analyzed the development environment of digital agriculture in China and introduced the application of smart agriculture-related technologies. He believes that the national rural revitalization strategy, the integrated development of the entire agricultural industry chain, and the increasing number of high-quality and highly educated agricultural talents have all provided impetus for China's agricultural development.

Young Filipino entrepreneur Jim Leandro P. Cano introduced new technologies applied in the field of agricultural consulting, such as the use of virtual reality (VR) technology to remotely observe farms, the use of drone aerial photography technology to provide mapping services, etc. The application of these innovative technologies will bring more possibilities to the development of the agricultural industry.

Shi Yan, founder of Share Harvest Farm and co-chair of the International Community Support Agriculture (CSA) Alliance, told her entrepreneurial experience in Beijing, saying that social agriculture is to mobilize social resources to participate as much as possible, so that agriculture can become a common industry for farmers and citizens, so as to "make farmers an enviable profession".

Doina Popusoi, an expert in agroecology at the United Nations International Fund for Agricultural Development, used an agricultural project running on the outskirts of Rome as an example to introduce the International Community Support agriculture (CSA) model, which she believes is not only a new way of farming, but also a new way of life for young people.

Abdel Bouraima from West Africa shared the application of modern agricultural technology and automatic irrigation systems for small and medium-sized agricultural enterprises in Côte d'Ivoire, arguing that although its agricultural products have a large market in West Africa, efforts need to be made to transform into an efficient and sustainable entrepreneurial agricultural system and improve the speed of response to market demand.

Agricultural innovation experts and youth representatives from 10 countries from China, India, Italy, the Philippines, Nepal, Saint Lucia, Côte d'Ivoire, Nigeria, Togo and Ghana attended the meeting, exchanged cutting-edge theoretical technologies and innovative entrepreneurship practice cases in the field of agriculture, and contributed to the development of agricultural modernization and rural revitalization at home and abroad.

The event was co-sponsored by the Cultural Communication Center of CIPG and the Global Agricultural Development Youth Forum, and co-organized by the Overseas Agricultural Research Center of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, the Beijing European and American Returned Scholars Association, and the China Net Cultural Development Center.
