Almost became a son-in-law in Shanghai

Yuan Xiaoliang recalled that in 1983, when he performed at the Shanghai Jingyuan Bookstore for the third time, an old listener and a fan of Yuan Xiaoliang listened to books for half a month in a row, and also rushed to Yalu and Dahua Bookstores to listen to books.

One day, Qian Jiamu's mother invited Xiao Liang to his home on Taixing Road as a guest and introduced his young daughter to meet him. Unexpectedly, the two met and fell in love at first sight. Xiao Liang began his first love in Shanghai, met for the first time, and called a Shanghai brand taxi to go to the Western Suburbs Park. This was a fashionable luxury at the time.

Qian Jiamu's mother's daughter also once learned to sing and comment, but did not learn, coupled with various other reasons, Yuan Xiaoliang's first love failed. Talking about this experience now, he said that he had already confessed all this to his lover, and laughed: "I almost became a son-in-law in Shanghai!"

In 1989, when performing "Meng Lijun" at the Shanghai Yalu Bookstore, Yuan Xiaoliang's voice was hoarse due to a cold, and the majority of listeners consciously kept the venue quiet, consciously kept the venue quiet, and no longer asked to sing the opening of the lyrics. At the end of the performance, many old listeners specially prepared fat sea gifts.

In 1996, Yuan Xiaoliang and Wang Jin recorded on Shanghai Cable Radio in the morning, performed "Meng Lijun" in shanghai Xiangyin Shuyuan in the afternoon, and recorded on Oriental Television in the evening, the performance was very tired, and they had to take care of their young daughter.

The Shanghai audience thought very thoughtfully, sent children to eat and supplies, and when they went out, they called a taxi early and waited at the door. To this day, Yuan Xiaoliang has never forgotten the enthusiastic Shanghai audience.

In 2007, Shanghai Oriental Television specially recorded the "Hand in Hand" album for Yuan Xiaoliang and Wang Jin, including a number of wonderful programs that have won awards in Shanghai: "Meng Lijun" selection, the opening of the lyrics "Peach Blossoms", the modern short story "Dating" and so on. In the program, Yuan Xiaoliang recounted his deep affection for the Shanghai audience and expressed his gratitude to the Shanghai audience.

He always performs in Shanghai many times a year, leaving his voice and trace in the book world, radio and television stations. Sometimes he would rather give up his expensive appearance fees, or even get paid for anything, and take time out of his busy schedule to complete various performance tasks in Shanghai.

Yuan Xiaoliang and Wang Jin recorded forty-four long-form plays "Meng Lijun" on Shanghai Cable TV in 1997, setting a record for the highest rating that year and have been replayed six times so far. In 2007, he was invited to serve as a guest in Suzhou dialect on the "Pingtan Tiandi" column of The Opera Channel of Shanghai Oriental Television Station.

In November 2008, the tenth anniversary of the establishment of the Shanghai Sunset Red Critics Book Club, Yuan Xiaoliang still took time out of his busy schedule, drove himself, posted his own travel expenses to Shanghai, volunteered to perform, and "Zhang Pai" descendant Huang Jiaming sang the opening chapter of the bullet lyrics "Battle Changsha", which caused a sensation in the Majestic Theater, which was well received by the audience, and repeatedly closed the curtain before it ended.
