3. Introduction: Petra is an ancient city in Jordan, hidden in a narrow canyon connecting the Dead Sea and the Strait of Aqaba. In ancient times, it was an important trading center and the capital of the kingdom of Erdom. Since 1812, many monuments have been discovered, most of which are carved into the rock walls of a deep valley. It was built around the 6th century BC by the Nomadic Nanabat Arabs who inhabited it. It is world-famous for its rocky colors. Petra is often referred to as the "Rose Red City" for its colours. It is a story from the 19th-century English poet J. Scott. A quote from one of W. Bergen's poems: "A rose-red city has half the history of mankind." The word Petra is derived from the Greek word for "rock."

The tall and majestic halls of the entire city of Petra are arranged on the rock walls of the surrounding cliffs, and the eaves of the doors and the overlapping temples are very spectacular. The valley unfolds on one side of the treasure trove, revealing numerous graves carved into the rocks. The tombs are made of pink sandstone and are also doped with many other colors. Some of the carvings on the stele were exposed to the wind and eroded and unrecognizable. There is enough archaeological evidence that the earlier Petra was neither rose red nor salmon-like pink, while stucco was whitewashed, quite different from what is seen today.
