Review the thirty-third chapter of the Tao Te Ching and encourage him with the King:
Those who know others are wise, and those who know themselves are wise. The winner is strong, and the self-victor is strong. The contented are rich, and the forcible have aspirations. Those who do not lose what they do will last, and those who die and do not die will live.
I. The Tao Te Ching
Translation:
He who knows others is wise; he who knows himself is wise. Being able to overcome others proves that there is strength, and those who can overcome themselves are strong. Perseverance in following the "Tao" is what makes one have great ambitions. Only by not losing one's spiritual home can one's existence last longer. Those whose bodies are lost but whose spirits are eternal are the ones who really live long.
