Malaysia Media: The Malaysian city of Kota Kinabalu will close some streets to coincide with Chinese New Year activities

According to Malaysia's Shihua Daily, The Mayor of Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia, Noricha, said that in order to cooperate with the 2022 Chinese New Year Carnival held from January 22 to 29, the City Hall of Kota Kinabalu will close Gaya Street, City Road and Pocket Park during this period.

Gaya Street Road will close Buildings A to C (Agricultural Bank to RHB Bank) from 22 to 29 January, from 5 p.m. to 12 noon for hawkers to set up stalls.

In addition, all parking spaces on Gaya Street, City Road and Pocket Park will also be temporarily closed from 5:00 p.m. to 12:00 p.m. from January 22 to 29, and the public is not allowed to park their cars there.

Those interested in setting up stalls can request an application form from the Kota Kinabalu City Hall Licensing Unit.

During the closure period, the public is required to follow the traffic orders of law enforcement officers, or change routes and use parking lots elsewhere to ensure smooth traffic.
