There were 37 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Taiwan

Taipei, January 20 (Xinhua) -- Taiwan's epidemic command center announced on the 20th that there were 37 new confirmed cases of new coronary pneumonia, of which 24 were cases of immigration from abroad and 13 were local cases. There were cases unrelated to the Taoyuan Airport case in Taoyuan and Kaohsiung, and a total of 5 new cases of unknown origin of infection were added.

According to the command center, the new local cases are 5 men and 8 women, ranging from 5 to 80 years old. The source of the infection has yet to be clarified, namely a family of three in Kaohsiung and two cases in Taoyuan. Of the 24 new cases of emigration, the largest was 10 from the United States.

Up to now, a total of 18,041 confirmed cases in Taiwan have been confirmed, including 3,238 cases of immigration from abroad and 14,749 local cases.
