Back in 2018, when PRS and John Mayer had just launched Silver Sky, the combination of John Mayer's beloved 63/64 Stratocaster features and PRS's iconic spirit of innovation sparked phenomenal attention among John Mayer fans and guitarists and enthusiasts around the world. After a long period of speculation and legend, in 2021, john Mayer Silver Sky of the SE product line was finally launched.

Vintage but modern neck
The biggest adjustment to se silver sky and its U.S.-made sibling version is the handboard curvature, which is adjusted from the U.S. 7.25" to the slightly modern 8.5". Most modern guitar fretboards are designed between 10-16", but PRS chose to overlay the retro curvature design on top of the modern design, which may seem like a minor change, but when you actually play SE Silver Sky once, you will know the difference: the retro guitar lover's favorite feel adds some slightly flat modern feel. Unlike other SE line signatures, the John Mayer handwritten signature, which symbolizes SE Silver Sky, is designed on the steel plate of the neck like the American product, and the material is different from the nickel-plated accessories, which becomes a highlight of the appearance.
Sweet single coil pickup
If you're a single-coil pickup enthusiast, se Silver Sky's 635JM "S" pickup is your thing. The SE Silver Sky, powered by Silver Sky, is a retro pickup developed and designed by John Mayer and PRS: full and round, crystal clear high-frequency tones, excellent harmonic overtones, just as good as the guitars of the early '60s. When you use a tube speaker's distortion channel, the gorgeous low-frequency roar and excellent clarity make it so hot. Of course, the development of modern technology has made this pickup's signal-to-noise ratio better, and it can well counteract noise between pickups.
Poplar xylophone body and two-point vibrato system
As one of the oldest woods to produce electric guitar bodies, the poplar xylophone body has similar timbre characteristics to the alder body used by the American Silver Sky: balanced frequency band output, sweet mid and high frequencies, plus a lighter texture, which is very friendly to the player. Do you like to use a rocker? Is it a sound madman? The PRS two-point vibrato system on the SE Silver Sky allows you to worry about pitch issues even after full pressure.
4 paint colors
John Mayer and PRS's pursuit of innovation coincided, so instead of using gradient colors on top of the American Silver Sky, there were 10 paint colors plus 2 limited edition colors (John Mayer is known to be a SAO). SE Silver Sky's pursuit of lacquer color is still reflected, including moonlight white and magenta ivy color, bluestone blue a total of 4 colors, the choice of anyone.
