Electrical is still the primary cause of fire, and fires in production operations are prone to casualties. In 2021, from the perspective of the direct causes of fires, 28.4% were caused by electricity, while more than one-third of the larger fires were caused by electrical causes, and most of them were electrical line failures, accounting for nearly 80% of the total number of electrical fires. In addition to electricity, the proportion of other causes of fire is: 22.6% of fire accidents, 13.7% of residual fires, 10.9% of smoking, 9.9% of spontaneous combustion, 2.7% of production operations, 1% of fire playing, 0.6% of fire, 10.6% of unknown causes and other 10.2%. Among them, the fires in production operations such as illegal fire construction, welding and welding and cutting accounted for only 2.7% of the total, but the deaths caused accounted for 6.3% of the total, and the larger fires caused accounted for 10.7% of the total.
